Hi All,
I am writing my product review for website and was interested to hear what people on the forum are thinking about the Dynasty set know it has hit the market. Some feedback would be great. Briefly here is a couple of my views.

I can see some corners that select have cut being the last release for a while. I think the set lacks a little imagination in variety of product. ie We just have the plain foil stamped insert, a range of refractor inserts and the high end cards as a simple foil card. The Mirror card is just a follow on from series 1. I think the quality of the foils seems a little dodgy also.
Having said all that I think the mostly 13 hits per box is great, the parallel cards look great and I like the protective seal on them. The limited to 50 on the black league leaders cards is also sure to make them highly sort after.
Good Fun Busting Boxes !!

Overall it smacks of a slightly lazy release by Select.

Tell me what you think.

Don't forget to tune in for my Live Case Break of Dynasty on Youtube starting this Wednesday.

I am happy with the feel of the cards, Pictures are ok, enjoy the hits per box ratio. Price is still a bit rich for what we are receiving. Overall, a good set,

I actually thought they put together a pretty decent release! Like the 1 per pack paralells, the Top Prospects look great and the Golds/Black seem to be doing well!

There's a lot to like about this set. All Stars are a great idea, TC's carrying on from Champions is great (had to be done), TP's look fantastic, new look award cards likewise and as stated, the ratios are sweet. My only criticism would be the lack of variety in team sets (compared to Champions) and some of the TP choices. Not completely sold on the Gold & Blacks yet either, but will reserve judgement. I'd rate it 7.5 out of 10.

I like the common card the sigs will looks great on them. The Inserts are good but going to be hard to chase the good ones. Other then that a nice set of cards. But price is something i thought was a bit rich.

Might just be the halo effect of a new release but these are up there with my favourite Select cards. Knowing there is a good chance of a decent hit in any given box is a big add - compared to Strike where there is nothing between the one per box insert and the one per case insert.

Curious as to how well these are selling. Have JHL increased their wholesale prices?

Was talking to Glenn from GCC last night and he tells me they are getting close to sold out.

Was working it out. In a case of 12 - you would get 6 boxes with a gold card? 2 -with a black and one with redemption.
So only 3 boxes in a case would be missing on of these 3.
So 3 in every 4 boxes gets u a decent card>
I like those odds.
Would love to collect the blacks for the rareness but dont know of their future collectability with no signatures???
My opinion - very diificult set to finish BUT good value for a box purchase

The Dynasty Designs are excellent, very thoughtful, best I have seen from select, unfortunately the designs aren't given their justice because the quality falls short.
If the quality actually complimented the designs I would give select 8 out of 10, as usual select cuts corners and are to cheap to manufacture high end quality cards just a high end price. With that being said and funny enough this is the best quality I have seen in at least 4 years!
The hit ratios are great with the Black and Gold League Leaders, the range of box inserts is a fail when it comes to the Award Winners(only 6) and Triple Centurions(only 5).
Majority of the players chosen for individual team sets and Top Prospects are thoughtless but I think they got the rest of the players right for all the other inserts.

Regarding the fact that this is selects last NRL release for a while, hopefully ever. I for one will be more then happy to see the back of Select when it comes to NRL, the thousands of faulty, poorly manufactured cards I own are a painful reminder of how I will never miss them and I think they insult the NRL community with their cost cutting quality.... at the end of the it's the kids who are being ripped off, I think back to the day, decades ago when I would spend all my hard earned pocket money on a few packs of cards and if I pulled some of the cards out of a pack that I have with select my heart would sink.

I hope ESP poaches some of the hard working designers at select because I don't think select deserves them.....

BTW Good luck with the MOJO on wednesday Pete :)

I think the base set actually looks quite nice... as do the parallel cards.

I'm yet to pull anything exciting but the All Star cards do nothing for me. Really looking forward to getting a TP in hand as I think they look quite good (although I agree on some of the selections... Lawrence for the Titans next time please!).

I love the Dynasty cards, The Black and Gold League Leaders well done and exellent hit ratio per case, not happy they left out the club logo card,
I Spoke to Select last week about the card errors and they said that they don't go out of their way to make errors on cards, that the spelling or any wording is passed and ok'ed by the NRL teams and then passed on to them.

I finally got my hands on Dynasty yesterday - overall pretty happy with it and glad I forked out for a box.

Base
I had been critical about the common card designs but - like Strike last year - they look better in hand. I still prefer simple game shots over photoshop-o-rama, but they're a clean, bright design - remind me of some of the US sport sets Score did in the mid-90s.
Nice to see a few of the alternate (3rd choice) jumpers showing up on cards, particularly the pink Panthers one.
Biggest let down was player selection, but I've ranted elsewhere about how Select did the cut-off too early in the season (round 4). Not enough rookies, too many players barely relevant in 2012.
Also, while I never expect the blurbs on the back to be enlightening, it concerns me when they are down-right bullsh*t. Check out the Darius Boyd card to read about how he has set the Knights backline on fire. At the time the cards were written and for much of the season Boyd has struggled. I don't expect the cards to bag players, they are essentially a promotional tool for the NRL, but there's no need to make-up stuff.
Did we really need four checklists? Annoys me how it screws up the layout of the pages.

Inserts
Great hit rates - amazing the difference a 1:72 makes to a box. Love League Leader cards, remind me of the 94 inserts Dynamic did, and I reckon the Team of the Year are the best design Select has used since 2005.
Pleased if not blown away by the Award Winner and Top Prospect cards and nice to have the 300 game 'mirror' series continued. Though it will always feel a bit lacking without ET and Wiki. Great concept for a set.
I thought the All Star cards were a complete snooze-fest. Nice to have All Star game acknowledged in the set, but needed to be represented by action shots or cards depicting key players. Hopefully the end of Select's NRL sets means the end of headshot cards.
I will likely never lay my hands on any of the sig redemptions but the thrill of the hunt - even from just one box - was magic.

Overall - 7/10. Nice way to go out Select.

I am going to do a picture up of Indigenous All Stars because I think they look great I will post photos of it when finish
