From my end we got lucky, Beau Henry at the Titans this year. Jamal Idris, Beau Champion, Nate Myles and also Luke Douglas also there from next season. Which will make it easy to get them signed.
Can't really expect Select to predict which players are going to leave mid-season though.
Overall Strike is a nice set, but the Knights fans have copped the rough end of the stick, two cards of players who have already left, another three of players who are leaving, all cards in ugly away jerseys, and our Top Prospect hasn't played a single game for the club, and doesn't look likely to. Some of those things are definitely out of Select's control.
One real basic thing for me, how about a thicker cardboard for all cards, no need to go overboard but i think this is a must if select want to step up.
I know this is a minor gripe, but Club cards. There are only 12 commons per team and 1 is exhausted for a club card, which I think is a HUGE waste. From a person who wants 15 commons per team...but is ok with what he gets.
When you also consider what your set would look like including these players to your set:
Brisbane Jaral Yow Yeh
Bulldogs Greg Eastwood
Canberra Bronson Harrison or Dane Tilse
Cronulla Ben Pomeroy
Gold Coast Anthony LaFranchi / Anthony Miniciello
Manly Jamie Lyon
Melbourne Gareth Widdop
Nth Qld Dallas Johnson
Newcastle Chris Houston
Parramatta Shackleton
Penrith Trent Waterhouse
St George Dean Young / Beau Scott
Souths Sam Burgess / Mick Crocker
Roosters Tom Symonds
Warriors Jacob Lillyman
Tigers Tim Moltzen / Gareth Ellis / Bryce Gibbs / Liam Fulton
That's a fair few REP players not in there. How Jamie Lyon or Jaral Yow Yeh or Sam Burgess missed out...I don't know...I have never had this sort of thing explained very well.

From what I understand, Select can suggest team makeup for sets etc but its the NRL who have the final say on who gets in the team set, who gets the signature cards etc. We need to remember that Select are just a company that manufactures a product under licence for the NRL who as the licencee determines the final makeup of the set. Now it would be silly to consider that Select don't have any input, they must have but the final say has to be with the NRL. So instead of pointing the finger at Select all the time for what we get, we should be asking someone from the NRL licencing committee to join the forum to learn what it is the collectors want. Issues with the physical product such as damage / printing issues etc can be addressed to Select because that is their core business.........making the cards.
I agree with you Dave but no one from NRL licensing is going to answer issues on something they don't physically produce. We should be giving this sort of feedback to Select to take back to the NRL. They have a contractual arrangements with them and would be well within their rights to bring these type of issues up as part of any business relationship.
This also goes for the issues around incorrect statistics being used on the cards. Select are paying someone (either the NRL or i assume David Middleton's company) for this information. They should make sure they are getting what they are paying for.

Never blamed Select actually...and didn't point any fingers. And I know the NRL are douche bags with this stuff. If the NRL treat Select like they treat other large portions of the game...well...we're probably lucky we still get footy cards at all.
Well when it comes to player selection, would the NRL seriously have an objection to and veto Jamie Lyon and Trent Waterhouse cards?! And that still doesn't explain why the DT set usually has the better players chosen. Why would the NRL leave out the best players in one set, but not the other?
I thought of another one, please no more of those hideous Superstar Gems!!! The ones with the big heads and the cartoon bodies. They have never looked good.
Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but I've seen some negative feedback around Select's handling of redemption cards so thought I would share my positive experience.
Cards were returned immediately after posting (less than a week end to end), the Premiership Redemption set was secured in a select envelope with the cards inside top loaders, and within the padded bag I provided.
