Just a question for you all to add some discussion to the AFL section, what is your favourite (and least favourite) footy card set of all time and who is your favourite (and least favourite) producer of cards?
Which product had you gambling thousands of $$$ hoping for that sweet, sweet autograph, and which product had you take a break from collecting?
Which company's cards do you love, and which company do you just pass off when you see it?
As for me, my favourite set of all time would have to be 2004 Select Conquest.
I mean, 3 Brownlow Signatures, some nice inserts and base cards, the GameBreakers jersey cards, and the holy grail /50 Brownlow Tri-Signature, in one set? Being 14 when it was released, my mates and I were amazed at this release, and I still am. Best set Select have ever made.
On the other hand, some of the recent Select Champions years (2013-2015) have been disgusting. The caricatures could've been mastered by Grade 1 kids, there was no real chase card to collect and a lot of repetition across the years.
I criticised this year's release a lot, but even I think that this year's set was better than previous years.
