What's your favourite base set since 2000?

What's your favourite (parallel/jdc) second insert set since 2005?

What was your favourite young guns/future force/top prospect design?.

What are your three favourite sub sets since 2000?

2009 classic base.
2006 accolade footy faces
2011 strike top prospects

1. 2013 league sensations
2. 2010 sensation gems.
3. 2011 champions rookies

It's almost like asking which one is your favourite child.......

Base: 2009 Scanlens retro
Parallel: 2006 Footy Faces (didn't mind 2012 Gold Parallel either)
Signature: 2012 Dynasty or 2002 Challenge (worst 2003XL)

These subsets come to mind:
2001 Impact: Top Try scorer
2005 Tradition: Club Heroes
2015 Traders: Club Leader

I also really like the 2007 Sketch cards before they were overdone in subsequent releases.

Great suggestion here I cannot fill it all out at the moment will have to have a think and good look through them all
I will start with the base set 2009 classic has to be the best. some times less is more It reminded me of the retro scanlens look.

Favourite set would be 1989 Scanlens/Stimorol. Even now I can remember chewing all that gum and dusting the flour off the cards and compiling my set with love. That Bulldogs logo card on the top, dodgy pics like Craig Coleman and Col Fraser, and rookies galore - Stuart, Daley, Langer etc.

Ahhh...memories.

I don't think it looked so good for every side, but purely from a Knights team set, I loved the look of the 2003 base set.

I love the layout of the authentic and the xl. They were nice sets. Alot of sets between them and classic though..... And nothing since then.

In terms of parallels - 2005 Tradition.

Base set - 3-way tie 1988/1989/1990 (memories from childhood)

I also liked the 2007 Stetches/Gems.

Liked the 2008 Caricature Gems but it ended up like a band that just continually brought out songs that all sounded the same...

Mirren did post the question re sets post 2000 for this thread but if I'm given free range I like 1964, funny how the first / simplest are the best then probably a soft spot for 74 or 75 as that is when I started collecting.

For me,

Base: 2012 Select - with the footy in the background
Parallel: 2012 Peel and Reveal - interesting way to get parallels
Signature: 2006 Invincible - hard to choose, none really grab me

Subsets:
2013 LS - great uncluttered design
Select 200-Game case cards - love the layout and the connection between years
2014 Elite Master & Apprentice

...and a nod to the 88-91 Scanlens with the autograph panel at the bottom - they should re-use these designs for the Traders parallels!

2003 XL Game Used Jersey Patch
2012 Dynasty LLG / LLB
2004 Authentic Captain Predictor

So many to choose from and hard to leave some out.

So many to choose from and hard to leave some out.

I went a bit lower end with my subsets but I agree the 2004 Captain sigs is a very nice set and one of the best. The 2007 holo's is an interesting choice I notice a few of mine are lifting at the edges.

Can't say i have had any lifting with my 07 Foils Ross.

2007 was when i started collecting again after 1995.

I think i just have a soft spot for them but the whole 2007 Champions set is one of my favourites.

Yep 2007 Champions was a great release, first time we saw sketch cards and GEMs just a shame they flogged to death in the end.

What was good with champions releases as discussed to death in other forums was the ratio were right for a Series I release and very obtainable for set collectors.

My foils in the majority are OK straight from packs into sleeves and into folder but there was a lot I traded for and some of these which must have been handled heaps and have some slight lifting in the corners.

1. 2007 Acetate Gem Sketch Cards - Not a fan of the subsequent releases, dont like caricature type ones.
2. 2005 Power Playmakers (after you redeem the premiership predictors card)
3. 2008 Centenary Club Logos

That's my top 3, I think the 2009 Captain Signature cards are up there too, but I think thats just because they are so limited.
