Fake?

ADIDAS AUSTRAILA ONE DAY CRICKET CAP LIKE NEW - eBay Australia, Team Merchandise, Cricket, Sport. (end time 26-May-09 11:56:15 AEST)

Came across this. This cap would be from about 1999-2001/2? i think.

But look at the sponsor, ADIDAS! Well Australia Cricket Wear was sponsored by ISC and then Fila from about 2001 on. Not Adidas til about 2005. I reckon they just got hold of a fake.

well obviously But how did they obtain it i wonder?

cant believe how the person who made the fake first gets the current sponsor right, tick. But uses the old logo and hat style

I believe these hats are genuine.... and quite collectable.

I have two of these hats in my collection, one blue and one green. They were purchased from an Adidas shop in the early 2000's as a "special" Back then, I did some reasearch on "Adidas", and found that they had won the contract to supply Cricket Australia with there apparal but this very quickly fell over as they could not supply what CA wanted for an upcoming tour.... because of this, FILA were appointed (interesting on its own as FILA had no previous dealings with cricket at all) to fill the contract due to the ability of them supplying what was needed. I guessed then, and still now, that these were made as either promotional caps to show CA what they could manufacture or were infact sent to production, but as contract pulled, they still sold what they had already produced.

I have included a picture of the blue version I have as well as a newer hat that Adidas made as a sample for CA.... wish they ran with this one but no complaints as I have it and never seen another one like it before....

Well thanks for clearing it up. I was just suss as I thought ISC or FILA was the sponsor when the ACB logo was like that.
