Fake Patches -- Will card companies try and stop them?

As all of us know, fake patches are steady increasing in the hobby. I, myself, stay away from the patches that contain logomen or unreal logos from special edition patches because those typically end up being fake in the end.
But when is enough... enough? When will card companies realize that the simple swapping of fabrics has to be stopped? :/

I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with Topps' Allen and Ginter Baseball, but there relic cards look something like this:

Notice how there is plastic covering over the card and just a little cutout for the collector to touch the relic.
We should flip this...
Open faced card with little plastic over the relic. It doesn't have to be the whole card, just a little, clear plastic covering over the patch to enclose it.

So, something like this:

Yes, it would eliminate the collector's ability to touch the relics they pull, but it would offer another level of protection from patch tampering.

I just want to open this topic for discussion and see what you guys think of the idea I brought up or add opinions of your own
