Exquisite Jordan shilled? More to this story

Ok so I've been chatting to this guy on ebay about his Lebron Exquisite Enshrinements. He's not selling but anyway, he told me he's bought a Jordan 03/04 Exquisite Auto Patch /100 for $5k. The seller told him he reckons it will be worth $7.5k in the next few months. Wow.This guy has just come back to the hobby and been sucked right in I reckon. At the end of the day, he's very happy, but hell, for $5k can't you pick up a Jordan Limited Logos in any other year?

I'm not that big on the shilling carry on that goes around because generally I believe people want the card and pay it so it must'nt bother them.

The seller has given this guy a big spiel about how the sale will go on beckett and he'll be a part of a new price craze on Jordan Exquisites.

Well, let's just say, I'm glad I have a couple of Exquisites, coz I'll never afford another.

Will you keep it forever? That card would have to fetch around 10k right now would'nt it???

Might be shilled, hard to say with mj, his stuff is off the planet at the minute..

If you check out the bid history on the first link, it looks very dodgy.Probably one of the worst I've seen. I don't often use this term but it really does look like blatant shilling.

Then why would you sell a card for $5k when you just had it at auction and it went for $5.5k?

$500 is alot of cash to take off a card.

The only problem I have is, when you get a sale like this, everything follows. Kobe is then worth more and it flows down the line.

It should fetch that, especially being #ed 1/75. Not sure how long I will have, depends on the finances I guess!

Lebron really is probably the wisest to go after now if you're an investor. Still has plenty of room to go up. I'm predicting 3 peat from the Heat.

Hahaha this card! Seen the ended auction for $5500 and was thinking something wasn't right now its sold for $5k bin at a loss. This ish has been going on with exquisite mj's for the past year.
Anyone else remember these going for $6-800? LOLZ!

I guess if it gets difficult to find boxes to bust that give you the chance of hitting a Jordan auto and that also don't have expired redemptions you have no choice but to buy individual cards at the end of the day imo

Yeah, but so will your interest payments with a term deposit!! At least the banks have to be honest about ripping people off! You will always know what you are getting with them! lol

I would never consider buying any of these MJ's anymore. Too much uncertainty, dishonesty and in turn, risk!

I wonder how long these insane prices will last. I must admit that cards I have sold have not reached any of other peoples prices for the same card. I think almost every auction is shilled!!

Like last year or the year before I made a guy a cash offer of $1300 on one of those, which at the time was a good/decent offer - at or above market. I fail to see how that's now a $5000 card, and the signature on that one sucks too!!
