definitely the only one who is, maybe victor the viking too.
couldnt think of a worse choice myself. 4 tries in a pre season game, come seasons end gets moved to orange peeler for milford. just not a good pick imo.
and slater again, like seriously. how many official sigs would he have now? iv'e lost count.
I know I've said it before but these guys need to be aware of what has been done before. Not just across their product, but across the history of the hobby.
I know they don't care about what Select did, I've heard it all before, but they should. They should be on top of what Select did well and what they did poorly. They should be across what works for their target market and what does not. They should be aware that certain players have had signature cards done to death, they should also be aware that collectors want something new and unique with every release. A bit of history homework might serve them well.
I know we have all thrown up our ideas but there are so many unique things ESP could do. I am sure you recall the Dynamic 94 Masters Captains Choice insert set, imagine a dual sig Captains choice, how good would that be. So many ideas they could dominate this hobby with
Yes but if the effort and or cost went into it then i think it would be one of the premium sets to own.You need to consider the cost of getting something like that 1) Given the go-ahead from the NRL and then 2) being told by the NRL that you have approval but you need to do the work of chasing up the players/clubs/families for rights etc

I know i would pay extra for a set like this.
That is a nice looking card. I know that ESP has already been in contact with Lockyer's agent as well as Lewis and his agent regarding having them as signers. The players agent and ESP have to be able to meet at a realistic price before any players sign (excluding the rookies/ young kids who all get a flat rate)
100% agree.
I have shared quite a few of these ideas myself to ESP. I even submitted a full proposal around a high end limited type release that I thought would do well and would have a good balance between being profitable for them and giving collectors what they want.
But the list of what could be done is endless:
- Dual Autos
- Triple Autos
- Game Worn Jersey
- Game used ball
- A chrome/finest like set
- A High End Limited edition set
The list could go on.
I spent 30 mins doing a mock up of this card. How many Queenslanders would go crazy for something like this if it were released as one of the big chase card?
ESP have released some great cards and done more in the last 12-18 months than Select did in a while.....but my feeling is if they want to build there brand amongst collectors, they need to take the next step.
Cheers
Matt
You are right Matt, ESP has done more to destroy the card market in 18 months than Select ever did.
I like the idea of this card tis is what you are looking at.100% agree.

Also as far as expanding on their releases, does anyone really think the Australian Rugby League card collectors market can handle 4 or even 5 releases a year?
I like the idea of this card tis is what you are looking at.
If you do it limited to 100.
Lockyer would cost $10,000
Wally Lewis $3500.00 to $5000
Allan Langer $1500.00 to $2000
At low end cost wise will be $15,000 for the cost is signatures which makes cost at min cost of $150 for the signatures plus card $10 each for the card so you would be looking to sell this at $400 to $500 and the other thing in Lockyer is now under a contract for offical signing.
