ESP Limited Edition 2013 (Info Updated 04/10/13)

if its true that the set is $4000 and an origin set im glad that there is only likely to be a Bird and Myles card

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there's two different sets being discussed here, I think. The origin one is meant to be coming out this month, but the $4000 one is speculation about one next year.

Fingers crossed the origin one doesn't cost $4000, I'm not too sure anyone would buy that if it only had the expected three sigs in it.

thank god! makes sense now! that's why I said no way, how much are we looking at for this years release and when do we get some info!

Elite Number 1 Card Charity Auction

A web based charity auction will take place late November 2013 to return to the collector market the Elite number 1 Cards. Further details on how to register your interest in the auction will be posted shortly via ESP and partner websites. 36 individual NRL Elite cards will be auctioned to the highest bidders on an unreserved basis, all proceeds will be donated to ESP’s chosen charity Second Bite www.secondbite.org

Good to see the #1 cards hit the market!

Cheers
Matt

Kudos for ESP returning the #1s, especially to charity. It is a shame that they will go to the people with the biggest wallet instead of a game of chance where everyone is equal, but overall a very pleasing outcome that restores a lot of faith. We are actually going to have #1s in our market!!!

Will they be holding the #1s from now on??

Great to see a couple of differing sigs to normal - and another Slater! Do you know if each box will have the same numbered cards or random?

Reece Robinson got a hattrick in the All Stars game, so he deserves the signature card. I wonder how much the set will cost? Sounds good, but with only 34 cards, that's not many from each side, so I don't really expect any Knights.

Agree on the number one card auction - great they are being released, but a shame they will cost a bomb and the ordinary collector doesn't get a shot at them. Fingers crossed they are released in packets in future.

Well done ESP, First they suck all collectors in, by leading us to believe all number 1 cards will be in packets. Then they decide that due to unrest amongst collectors they should Auction those off and donate the money to a charity.

Seems ESP were the original charity. Ripping us to start with.
On a bright note, And i will send the above info through to SELECT, and once Mr Copley sees how much these cards will sell for, He may AUCTION alll the Number 1 cards he kept. Only thing is, his pocket will get all the cash.

great idea that.

Ben barba also got a hat trick, but they don't want to let him have any more signature cards so we've heard..

I would presume Slater is in an Australian jersey and Jennings in a Blues.
it's great to see that they are continuing premiership sets as well

Just wish it was a Knights premiership set!

If ESP have decided to do this with the numbers ones after initially thinking they'd keep them, then I think it's brilliant of them to let them out to the collectors and give the proceeds to charity. Gotta applaud them for that.

This has been the best year for NRL cards in some time, I reckon.
