We are happy to share some new info from ESP.

Anything that helps provide funding to the Australian War Memorial and is educational is certainly something I think is a worthy cause.

Centenary of World War 1 (CWW1) Trading Cards

ESP is planning to release a special set of trading cards on 7th August of this year, the set will commemorate the Centenary of Word War1 and Australia participation in the Great War.

The card set has been developed in conjunction with the Australian War Memorial, all royalty revenue will flow directly back to the War Memorial to help maintain and grow the collection as well as maintaining the remembrance cemetery’s around the world.

The first ever Trading Cards to featuring special issue Australia Post Stamps will also be included in the set, there are 10 stamp cards to collect with a further 45 cards to complete the inserts series.

The common set will consist of 160 Common Cards covering:
- Famous Battle

- Home Front and the contribution those that remained behind made to the war effort

The sub set will consist of 55 Insert Cards feature:
- Gallipoli images and war time facts
- World War One Begins
- 10 of these special cards will feature the Australia Posts Centenary stamp series a first in the Australian market on a trading card.

More product details include:

RRP $3.50 per pack

9 Cards per pack
24 Packs per box
12 Boxes per case

Collector albums and Starter Packs will be included.

All image and stats are provided by the Australian War Memorial from their extensive archives. Based on what I have seen so far the image selection and corresponding stats are phenomenal, the history and sheer emotion in some of the images is amazing so builds a wonderful 215 card set.

We are finalising the card template at the moment, once this has been done we will release a final draft of the sales flyer and a check list.

As always we are keen to hear collectors feedback.

I don't look in this section often so this was a pleasant surprise to read!

Would have been nice to see a subset of the medals awarded to Aussies with a representative story behind an award (ie why someone was awarded it - what they did).

Are ESP aiming for a specific release date?

Regards
Mike

I so agree @Matty76.
What I would really love is if they could get one of our heroic soldiers to do a signature card. It would be the pinnacle of anyone's collection. Having a signature card from an actual living legend of this fine country!

looking forward to it,

can you tell me if nelson the dog is in it ? as i have loaned the painting and property to the war memorial and didn't know about this ?

@Daz the biggest buyers of this card release should be High Schools so that kids can actually bloody learn about Australia's Military heritage I reckon :)

my Wife is a History teacher and I mentioned it to her just now and she is interested enough to want to know more information and what they look like.
