I am sure by now most of you would have seen the second minute brain snap by Wigan prop Ben Flower. This is the most violent act I have seen in a professional Rugby League match since Danny Williams king hit Mark O'Neill in 2004

He Should be banned for life.
To run in and belt an undefended man on the ground is a dog act.

If people think that Graham's actions were bad in the NRL GF, this one tops it 10 times over.

I just watched this again and to be honest with everyone Lance was already knocked out while on the ground and the second punch topped it all off. UFC style alright? He should be banned for 12 months as a second punch like that is not called for.

Yeh no real issues with the first one and was kinda triggered by lance's hit first but the second punch is ridiculous. Definitely a lengthy ban

Don't even agree with the first one. It was a nothing incident and he's had a complete snap and gone way beyond reason. No excuse for it.

The second punch looks ugly but the most damage would've been done when he his head bounced off the ground after the first.

Definitely agree that there was no need for the punch while Hohaia was prone, apparently Flower is full of remorse today realising he is set to spend a record time on the sideline!.

BEN Flower has been handed a six-month ban for the punches on New Zealand playmaker Lance Hohaia that marred the Super League grand final.

The Rugby football League’s disciplinary tribunal took just half an hour to come up with the punishment after Flower admitted the grade F offence.

The RFL announced the verdict via its Twitter account: “Ben Flower of @WiganWarriorsRL banned until April 14 2015 after being found guilty of Grade F violent and aggressive punching v @Saints1890.”

Flower’s punishment amounts to a 13-game ban, comprising two pre-season trials, Wigan’s World Club Challenge meeting with Brisbane Broncos on February 21 and the first 10 games of the 2015 Super League season.
