Any one up for predicting the end of season awards?

MVP - Curry.
DPOY - Kawhi.
ROY - Towns.
MIP - draymond green (gone from solid role player to mvp candidate)
6MOTY - Ryan Anderson

All NBA
G- Curry, Westbrook, F- Kawhi, Lebron, C- Cousins

Found the forward spots incredibly hard - Kawhi /Durant /green /Lebron
Centre also between cousins/davis

Not sure how 12.5 points and almost 8 rebounds a game with on 20 min is empty. Barton has only have 14.6 points with an extra 8 min of game time on average. If Kanter had an extra 8 min of average wouldn't surprised me if he average a double double

Yea, I don't get what empty statistics means. He's efficient as well, shooting 57%. On 36 minute adjusted stats, he's averaging 21.7ppg and 13.8rpg.

ROY: Towns without a doubt..watch out next season, he'll easily average 24/12 if he is given reins to the franchise and minutes. Kid is quick, can jump and shoot the outside shot. Got a couple hundred on him in early November to win ROY.

MVP: Will Steph be able to get the first unanimous MVP decision is the only question. Before the season began, I thought KD may have had a chance to win it by returning and leading the Thunder to a big season but Westbrook's emergence as a leader has stifled his MVP chances for the near future.

Both you guys are only seeing the empty stats, look at the advanced metrics:
Kanter has the worst on court defensive metrics of any center this season - the same as last season
Kanter last season allowed his opponent to shoot the highest FG% at the rim of any big man, this year he is top 3 still - behind Roy Hibbert
Kanters team mates score 1.5 points less per 100 possession than when he is on the bench AND ranks amongst the worst in plus minus in the league (in minutes played once Durant and Westbrook are off the floor)
Thunder are also significantly worse at getting to the line and 3 point shooting when Kanter is on the floor

Now, consider that he plays a lot of his minutes against oppositions second units as opposed to starting units like he did in Utah - I fail to see how he warrants any consideration for 6th man (a role that is required to make a team better) and as for MIP - that's not even worth me commenting on.

I do respect your opinions, however as a lover of advanced stats in sports my head and my eyes tell me otherwise.

@nichj99 I haven't dwelled into advance metrics on Kanter as it's way too time consuming but the few games that I caught of him playing, I thought he was doing a good job on the floor. Makes his shots around the basket and rebounds well, plays the pick and roll well. Defensively, I've heard commentators say that he's bad but I didn't think it was obviously so unlike Harden who looks like he can't be stuffed to even raise his hand to contest. I don't think that it makes him less of a player just because he plays against second units, because simply put, he's in a reserve role and he plays good minutes when he's out there.

From what I see, he's a black hole offensively (i.e., why the thunder are so much worse behind the arc and fail to get to the line as often) as the ball doesn't come out - see his below average assist numbers for a big man. On the other side he's a liability defensively. The only part of his game I believe is good is his rebounding. Yes he puts up big numbers, but does it help them win? Probably not. Kevin Martin is another guy like this - has always had big games but rarely has it helped his team win over the years.

Yea that ZaZa.

I mean, his first half of the season got him about 14,000 votes off Kawhi Leonard for an All-Star starting position. How is that not worthy of showing up in an awards column?

That's like saying Jeremy Lin deserves to be a starter.

You know Zaza's home country of Georgia (total population 3.7 million) ran a national social media campaign to try and get him there, which included the president of Georgia promoting and voting via Twitter. A fan vote, especially social media does not warrant an award selection. Hell, even vine star Hayes Grier got him almost 10,000 votes alone by promising to follow anyone who voted for him.

So I ask you, how does a stat line of 8.3 /6.8 / 2.4 to 8.8 / 9.7 / 1.7 warrant him being in MIP discussions, even when he was only at a season average of 10 & 10 before he dropped off a cliff?

1. Jeremy Lin is actually doing alright this year, I think he'd be a starter I fake ba wasn't in Charlotte.
2. He is becoming a more consistent player who has improved a lot from previous years.
In the few games of his I've seen, he has been a dominant beast on court, who was killing opposition centers.
