Does anyone know much about edge trimming of the older vintage cards to make their edges and corners more crisp?

Is there much of that out there that I would have to look out for? How could you tell by pictures?

It happens all the time. Its hard to tell with photos unless too much has been taking off. The easiest way is to compare the size of the card. BGS have soem backdoor deals me thinks and certain sellers have proven to be trimmers with favourable grading and caught out. Unfortunatley those threads get deleted by Beckett of course

Shoeless-joe is one eBay seller to stay clear of. Look at all those gold labels and trimmed cards!

It doesn't seem to happen as much with vintage as it does some of the more expensive or low pop report modern cards. I have yet to get a trimmed vintage card.

is it possible for people to crack and reseal slabs from BGS and replace with a trimmed card?

I guess it's been done before, but how noticeable is it???

Been done before but its hard to do. I had a mate buy a Russell RC and the psa holder had superglue on it. I would think trimming is more frequent.

The top guys would have profesional equipment and it would be hard to notice the diff in some cases. Serial numbers on cards has made it easier to spot the trimmed cards showing up. A corner miracously has no white and gets a BGS 9.5! WOW!
