eBay has made changes to how we define excessive postage and handling.

The changes outline what we believe to be reasonable charges, which a seller may pass on to a buyer for postage and handling.

We have made these changes based on Community feedback and our own research which confirms that excessive postage and handling prices drive buyers away, which ultimately impacts sellers.

Over the coming months, eBay we will be taking increased steps to monitor listings that are in violation of our policy. These efforts will also include following up on member reports of excessive postage and handling. Sellers who violate the policy will be educated in the first instance and repeat offenders may face suspension.

We believe that an increased emphasis on enforcing this policy will benefit the vast majority of honest sellers.

If you would like more information about the policy, please visit the Excessive Postage Charges Policy page.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Re: ****** eBay's NEW Postage and Handling Policy ******

It will be interesting to see if they actually do something about the overcharging on postage from the US ?!?

To true lippo... but ebay really need to lift there game...
I mean really...there will allways be scammers/ripoff merchants on ebay.
But there are plenty there that short of saying...beware ill take your cash or i make $$ on postage...stand out like dogs uknow whats...

The scumbags that sell ..example..$4000 rings for $199 with a so called valuation...$3000 nitro trucks for $399 etc etc etc....

Computer companies need to be hit hard! Firewire port for .99c with postage of $19.50, **** off!

is there actually anything you can do if you get charged $10 for postage when it was really only $1

eg:

A seller has a lot of auctions I'm interested in at the moment 20+. The auction states $4 for first item plus $1.50 for every auction after

Let say I win 20 items $32.50 postage do I have any avenue to claim back money if he has posted them all in one padded bag? for about $10 or less

Andrew - The best way there is to negotiate and then leave appropriate feedback if STILL ripped off !!! Unfortunately eBay don't do much in situations like that.....just the obvious ones :(
