i remember ebay saying that theyd never contact you outside the ebay messaging system and ask you to enter private info.
That's spam. If it's not and it's fairly urgent and important, they'll contact you on the eBay messaging system as well, like what they do with eBay fees.
It is a spam email....
2 ways to help pick the fakes....
1. scroll (don't click!!!) your mouse/pointer over the links on the e-mail...the link may say ebay on the e-mail but when you scroll over it most usually have a completely different link "underneath".
2. The easiest way to get confirmation of whether it is real or fake....If it is really from Ebay it will also be in your "my Messages" in "My Ebay".
