ebay shill?

umm Ducky I had a look at the bidding history. Something is definitely dodgy.. the seller is Chinese and won't send to China? Can't get my head around that. I am not an expert on Ebay but if you can't get out of the deal.. I guess you could contact the previous highest bidder (if he exists) if you are willing to mail to China and do a BIN deal thru Ebay? If it was me.. unless the card was something I really want.. I would run lol :)
 
You can contact ebay about it via Live Help which I have used a few times and is great. But I agree with Mavs, for a #/10 is not a bad price.
 
Definitely a shill. Check the bid that was placed for $69.51 after the high bidder retracted. He is also from China and the last feedback was from powershop*2, which I'm assuming is the same seller. ALso from China.
 
Refuse to pay, the seller won't want to take a negative and won't force you to.

This happened to me once, exact same thing, card ended at my max bid of around $65 after a bid retraction and then a shiller. I refused to pay, seller relisted the card, which I then won for $11, I'm assuming people didn't bid because they thought it was dodgy after the previous auction.
 
I was gonna bid on it, till I saw the bid history. I beleive seller is only selling cards for others, the owner of the card is the one doing shill.
 
Looks dodgy with that sort of evidence Col. See what you can do about the price maybe? and threaten to report him, lol. He might come to the party. I has the same sort thing happen to me once before.
 
Definitely a cheater and shill bidding, man this is crap i'm sorry to see that but u still get the best deal man.. Honestly i wont trust any China/HK seller coz most of the times sum chinese bidder also bidd to mess the auction.. They are deep shit man LOL
 
Ok price is not bad. But the behaviour is not acceptable. Definitely a shilled auction. I tried to analyse what happened. When you bid it was just $17.50 I assumed. Then you slowly raised it to $71.

Bang, the highest bidder retracted and 7 minutes later another one bid just under your max bid. Its like he knows how much your max bid is. He did only one bid (not in between your other bids) and amazingly just a few cents under your max bid. Maybe hoping you would raise it a bit more.

Man thats shilling well done.

This is why this forum is good for us to learn about things specially like this one. :D Would like to hear what end up doing.
 
I know that eBay is usually useless, but can't you take this problem to them? There is enough evidence in their logs for them to act against this seller, close his account off (much better than a single negative bid). They can't do anything about postage issues, but they have a shill bidding policy which this should clearly be covered by.
 
eBay wont do anything against most shillers as I've pointed out and proven in the past. I've supplied what we all saw as concrete proof and they still wont as they like the selling fees and don't give a stuff about us compared to eBay stock holders.

One time the stupid chick even got confused and sent an email saying that she saw I was suss but couldn't say for sure. She confused me with the shiller even though I reported it to them thru my eBay id ???????

Guys like Ian3 in HK and others are notorious shillers and continue it year after year.
