Hey guys,
just a question about an item i sold on ebay,

it was a car for wrecking & i wanted it gone asap, though i did not write this on the advert.
the wreck was won by a bidder, its been a week and i havent recieved payment.

i now have someone who can pick the car up off me, though i dont want to undersell it to a ebay customer.
though i'd really love to see it finally out of my yard.

What are my rights, how long doe's my item need to go unpaid till i can cancel the deal? if at all?

thankyou in advance oh knowledgeable ones

First step is to message the buyer and work out if he intends to pay. But 7days is usually enough time. For all you know he has changed his mind and will be happy if you cancel it.

Agreed contact first give them a few days timeframe to collect and if he cannot explain you have someone that will pick it up asap and you will refund them.

Thanks guys i just sent him a message then, i havent recieved a payment yet anyway Cheers

When you look at the cars section of ebay, a lot get relisted due to timewasters. It wouldn't surprise me if HE wants it cancelled too. A polite message and a few days to get a response then cancel it. No refund because he hasnt paid anyway. Probably no neg because who really cares you've sold it anyway.

Can't neg as a seller anyway! ;)

I'd put in an unpaid strike againts the buyer so other sellers Know & I believe once you get 3 your band from ebay.

No i am in no way disgruntled about the deal & wouldnt want to do that.
I was more worried if i declined the deal, he might land neg on me??

He can't leave feedback till he pays & by putting in an unpaid strike he has 2-3 days to pay or the transaction is cancled. Much quicker than waiting for him to reply to your email & if you want to cancle transsaction he has much more time to except or not & then you have to cancle it yourself & try & get a refund or reverse your Ebay fees.I know its not what most of us honest traders would want to do but its the quickest & easiest way to resolve the problem. Otherwise your other buyer mite loose intrest.
