Just a question, but stems from an annoying prick US seller charging 400% of the actual cost of postage then having the gaul to try and get me to remove the NEUTRAL feedback I left them. Prick.

Anyways, this dude has a feedback score of 6530....but his profile says only 2824 members left a positive (as well as 14 members leaving a neg, including me now, lol). Come on ebay/mathematics gurus, how the hell does that work???

When a member leaves more than 1 positive it gets counted once.

That's my point..his SCORE is higher than the number of members who left a positive. He has had a total of 10000 positives, obviously alot of those coming from people who bought multiple items. His SCORE should be 2810 by my reckoning. Is it an ebay glitch, hacking or some rule I don't know about???

As a seller, it may be the other way around. 2500 leaving multiple feedback adding up to more???

Not sure. May also have had another (or others) eBay account and got them merged into one account. I know your feedback score gets added on, but am unsure if the number of responders gets added on.

Well, I have contacted ebay about it, as I looked at a bunch of other people who had the correct feedback score. Also, this guys history doesn't suggest any other accounts that would be combined with this one, but I guess that is still a possibility. Will let you know what ebay says (if anything).

LOL it does not add up at all here is mine
Feedback Score: 423
All positive Feedback: 2934
So i should be on 2000 or somthing ?? LOL
Is it an ebay glitch or he has been memmber for long long time not all the score is showing !!!

He's been a member only for 6 or 7 years, so there shouldn't be an issue there. The number doesn't make sense using any logic I know of!

The way I figured it works is you've got your Ebay feedback and All feedback. You get one feedback from every deal but if you have more than one feedback received from the same member, it counts as one in your Ebay feedback but continues to add up in your total/all positive feedback.

For example, I've bought from Max more than 10 times on Ebay but all my feedback left for him only counts as one in his feedback score because it's from the same member. Is that cool?

Exactly Funk, but this guys Ebay feedback is much bigger than the number of members who left him a positive feedback. Sure, he has total feedback of over 10,000, but less than 3000 unique members leaving feedback. It must be an error of some sort...still waiting for ebay admin to get back to me.

OK...got a reply from ebay, not too happy about it. They told me the rules of the feedback score (as if I didn't freakin know them), then said this:

"With the example of sportscardsfast, the 2,920 positive feedback
comments left have only been left in the past month. If you look to the
right, you'll see that they've received 10,178 positive comments over
the past year. When you factor in repeat buyers whose feedback isn't
counted more than once, as well as the negative feedback they've
received, you'll find that their score of 6625 is correct."

Has anyone ever heard of the feedback page only showing the number of unique members leaving positives being only for the last month??? I have never heard of such a thing, and it is preposterous, why would that be the case? It isn't labelled that way, it just makes the feedback score look wrong. I think this is a lie. They are saying that, on average, individuals have purchased less than two items (about 1.8 on average) from this guy. He sells sports cards (at fairly decent prices) so most people I think would be inclined to purchase more than one item, that's for sure. Why must ebay lie to us?

Just looked at his feedback, and yes, you're right. Wonder where the extra 3600 in his feedback score come from if it's the number of unique members who've left feedback.

I do know however, that this guy has many ebay accounts, so perhaps it's come from merged accounts.

Got another ebay reply just now:

"I apologize for the delay in our response and any inconvenience caused
to you because of this. I would like to inform you that the information
you've provided has been sent to our engineers for further
investigation. Thanks for taking the time to let us know."

Oooh, the engineers are onto it.....I'm sure it will be sorted quick-smart. Clakey, you could well be right in that it is the result of combined accounts, but surely they can do a cleaner job of amalgamating accounts than this!
