The nerve!

I've had a few buyers as of late tell me how much postage will cost them.

One even paid me the postage amount he quoted.

Luckily enough, I sent him a message telling him it was not in his place to put in the postage cost. His responce: "Oh I make dolls for a living and know how much they cost to send." =D> #-o He guessed $4.00 in a sachel for 6 material dolls at 30cms tall. Wrong. It cost $10.00 in a sachel.

Recently, I sold a bulk lot of Photo Frames. 10 frames, all frames individually prepacked in boxes, frames are in two pieces. Here's a pic of the frames:

Apprently, according to the buyer, it will cost $11.00 postage in a 3kg sachel. [-X
I thought it was rather rude of them to tell me what my postage will cost me. When I know it will cost probably about $30 postage (probably freight due to the box size).

I don't quote postage if I don't know what it is.

I'm curious, has anyone else had a buyer tell you how much your postage is going to cost? And has it been less than your normal price?

I will nicely advise sellers from the US on what cards cost to ship to Australia, mostly so they don't try and rip me off.

Cards are one things, but random items such as a picture frame ? Yeah thats a bit odd.

Yeah I've had to tell a few sellers sometimes what it costs to ship to Aussie. After all, we do know.

But I member selling some cards from 04-05 Finest, and as it was my first time selling Intl. I had listed in the auction that I'd wait till auction end to get a quote for postage.

Next thing I know, an item sold, and the seller paid $5 postage.

I told them that it wouldnt include the insurance, etc, and they were happy, so I sent it off. No probs. I think the postage was only a few bucks.

But yeah wouldnt know anything about postage for items other than cards.

well your item would be very very difficult to ship I think, so it would need some very good packaging, but it wouldnt cost $30.00 I wouldnt think.

Like the dimensions of some of the largest costing boxes arent anywhere near 30 bucks, and you'd be able to back your item in bed pillows for protection with all that room!

With you there G-Man, I do the same ;)

Dunno if this is related, but today I went to post some stuff off and Australia Post seem to have increased all postage posts, express, regular and registered.

Tragic Aussie Post, Tragic!
