Just wondering your thoughts on it. I've posted a few things with a BIN price and they havent even lasted an hour. Do u think its better to hold an auction especially at this time of year with most player finished for the season or just picking a price and hoping to get it. I listed my Kobe credentials awhile back it was unnumbered which makes me think it was 1 of those funny 1's i listed about the numbering but it sold within 5 minutes. Today i just posted my 09 10 extra exquisite jersey and patches and my Sasha Vujacic rainbow sold straight away with a BIN of $100 included jersey #/50, #/25 and patch #9. Also listed Gasol extra exquisite jersey which was jersey #'ed sold that for $50 and his patch #/15 for $80. Am i selling my cards short of just been lucky?
Hmmm. If the are getting hit straight away it tells you one thing for certain. The buyer thinks it is a good price!
I guess the only way to see what an average or reasonable price on something is to list it with a way over the top BIN and wait to see what sort of offers roll in. If you get a few around the same sort of area, then that is your answer!
At the end of the day, you sold the cards you wanted to sell for "a price you were hoping to get" and they sold! You should be happy with that!
I don't think there's much luck to it.....despite eBay's best efforts a few years ago to lift the number of auction-style listings (by charging more for BIN listings etc.) the public prefer to BIN. They have since realised this, and made changes to their fee structure to encourage people to list more BIN items and keep people shopping on eBay.
Point being, that you may not have made more money by listing them as auctions....in fact chances are you probably would have made less. People don't seem to have patience for auctions anymore and seek the instant gratification of the BIN...even if it means paying a premium!!
