I was thinking, out of all the years of the nba, who has produced the best positioned players? I'm talking overall, 1 player here or there for one conference doesn't make up for 10 on the other...

For example,

The east have produced probably the best small forwards;

- Dr J
- Grant Hill
- Scottie Pippen
- Larry Bird
- Dominique Wilkins

Where the west have produced probably the best power forwards;

- Karl Malone
- Tim Duncan
- CB34 (Well, he technically came from the east)
- Chris Webber
- Kevin Garnett

The west have produced the best point gaurds;

- John Stockton
- Steve Nash
- Magic Johnson
- Gary Payton
- Kevin Johnson
- Mike Bibby

Where the East have produced the best shooting gaurds;

- Michael Jordan (enough said??)
- John Starks
- Reggie Miller
- Joe Dumars
- Vince Carter (SF?? or SG??)

Can people add to this?

I'd add Barkley to the West for Power Forwards. Sure he started in the East, but his production in the West was phenominal.

West have produced the best Centers in my Eye.

some very nice products from both sides.. I honestly think the west truely produce better big men than the east.. though the east produce better gaurd players history has shown.. i'd really want to see the east become more lethal, i mean they're probably at the moment 4 teams deep to the wests 12..

add Jason Kidd to the west point guards as he started and played his first 3 years in Dallas, then onto Phoenix

Yes, I think my list was very good, 67 players deep.

I think at least 60 of those players are All-Stars, some have not been though like Mike Bibby, Richard Jefferson etc.

It'd be interesting to compare though, because there have also been many great centres/power forwards from the East (Jermaine O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Bob Lanier, Bill Russell etc etc) and many great point guards from the East (Isaiah Thomas, Bob Cousy) so maybe there is more to this than just East vs West.
