Not sure if anyone has noticed, but last week Channel 9 was using dynamic advertising on the field.
This is where the advertising signs on the field are superimposed over the broadcast image so instead of spraying the logos on the grass, they digitally add them to the broadcast image.
Here is the ANZ surface for tonight....
As you can see the only logo on the field is the NRL finals logo on half way and the line markings.
When you watch the game tonight take notice of the other ads that "appear" on the field during the broadcast.
Yeah Matt noticed it a few weeks ago. The groundsmen went out between games and at half time and used rollers on the areas where it is advertised on TV.
They've actually been doing it since round 1 on both Foxtel and 9. The only thing painted now is the Telstra premiership logo at the bottom of half way. It works pretty well as you don't really notice while watching games and they can have different sponsors 'painted' on the field for different games at the same venue. The U20s games that are broadcast have Holden on the 20m line while first grade has other sponsors.
