Just heard a good story at a luncheon.
Mc was Joel Caine and he told a story about he and a mate when they were 17 were invited to trial with the dragons.
Joel said he had a shocker while his mate had a blinder and was easily the best out there.joel was phoned ASAP by the dragons and offered a deal, which he took. He rang his mate sure he would of hot a deal also.he hadn't.
He said the dragons rolled out the red carpet for him, but after a few games patience had worn thin. They called him and played a video of the trial and said "look at the pace you show here we reckon your bludging".
They then showed some great defense from the tape and said "what about that tackle".joel said yep it's a good tackle but it isn't me on the tape.
We had signed the wrong kid.the other kid being danny buderus!
Here is one for the Dragons fans. Not only was I given the honour of running with the Olympic Flame in 2000..... The man that I recieved the flame from was Changa Langlands. Not a great photo but something to show the Grandkids.

I think Blade inadvertently helped the hoodoo along nicely. All week and pre game they were saying that the dragons hadn't beaten the raiders in Canberra since the 2000 Olympics. The posting of this pic must have helped the raiders along! It was a good game to watch though and yeah the penalty was a terrible option, just glad it worked out. Sam Williams was great tonight also
