Hi everyone
all of this is done through ebay.
i had 2 michael jordan test refractors, (how do i know they were the real thing),
when i purched the box, years ago, the test refractors had a black covering which you peeled off to reveal a test refractor,
the normal refractors had a clear peel off cover.
well i did a deal with a ebayer from W.A over 6 months ago, in that time i have had 2 emails from him, 1st email (lets do a deal) 2nd email (recieved the cards). that is all i have heard in 6 months.
i wrote him a nasty email, wanting the cards back or send me what you owe me (we are talking of a couple of grand), reply to that email was, (what is your personal email addy),
so i gave it to him because he wanted to sort things out with me.
this is the 5th week since he sent his email askink for my personal email addy.
what do i do, do i get the police involved because of his scam, or just let it ride, please give me your thoughts
cheers
roger
From memory, didnt all of those specific cards have the Black coating on them which you peeled off? Never heard of the test refractors having a clear coating?
The base bordered:
There were these unbordered cards:
Then the refractors:
Then the borderless TEST refractors where were rare:
If the card you are referring to was this last one, then yes it was the rarer one!
The base cards had the clear coating which you could tell if they were refractors..
what i did was, i sent him the cards first, in good will, yes they are the bordered test refractors,
it was done in good faith, he has been an ebayer for a few years now.
i have had the 2 cards review a few years back and they were bordered test refractors.
the deal was, he recieved the cards and i would recieve boxes of cards from the Panini range.
Dave & Adams cards offered $1200 each card, this fella bettered the price, so i took it.
being 6 months is just not on,
Ok people, he's made a HUGE mistake in sending first. We've all sent first and sweat on recieving payment before I'm pretty sure. Even from "trusted" buyers. Let's not forget goodoldbball was it? Plus there's been plenty of other scum bags.
I don't understand why you sent him the cards without having recieved a payment. Isn't that just common sence???? I don't think there is something YOU can do to solve the issue. Maybe get the police involved, but I highly doubt they will do anything. Just think next time before you deal man.
remember the golden rule on oztraders
when your new to oztraders, have no feedback, you must send of your card first
and hope for the best.
oztraders is fantatic in this way
i did it this way on ebay, this member has over 12,000 sales
so i though he would be pretty fair to do a deal with
But the required feedback on OZCT is 10. Are you saying you don't have over 10 feedback on ebay? Besides I don't think there has ever been a send first rule on ebay. There has been trust issues but never any clear rules.
Exactly as above different sites have different rules. What you did via ebay was violate their #1 rule. I'm sure we have all done deals on ebay outside of auctions but always remember to protect yourself as much as possible. Write this up as an expensive learning experience and mOve on.
