just a public service announcment, this seller 'pugsly14' is selling HEAPS of fakes. he must have bought heaps at the fleer auctions and put patches and jerseys in the cards. all the jerseys and patches are obvious fakes as well as the fact there are no serial numbers on his cards. heres a few examples of his handiwork:

is there any point informing ebay of this, will they give a rats?

Cheers dude !!!

By the way, how do they "fake" a Gu card ??? Did Fleer sell off all the shells of the cards or something ???

One of them does have a serial number too ?!?

yeah, i think fleer had a liquidation sale went they went bust, sold all their cards. im pretty sure all had no jersey/patch pieces and were not numbered when they should be.

sellers like this one probably bought heaps and inserted their own fabric and hoped theres enough suckers out there who wouldnt know the difference, apparently there are as this guy has heaps of bids on his cards. i just hope none of them are ozcards people.

and yeah some of the cards are serial #ed which is puzzling, i guess some of his card arent fakes then maybe???

I must admit though, some of those patches look like they have been pushed under the cards and not been put in properly !!!!

maybe some cards were serial #ed but no jersey/patch was put in??? anyway, i wouldnt buy from this guy even if i thought it was absolutely genuine, very dodgy looking cards + bad feedback= stay away.

Yeah I passed on a Walker/Nash patch which was supposed to be numbered out of 10. I think it was from that seller.

There are a few sellers legitimately selling the cards without jerseys in them and stating they were from Fleer.

I had read on the Beckett board that Pugsley14 is ARA collectibles, the company that did the Fleer redemption fulfillment. Apparently someone emailed Pugsley14 and got the reply from ARA

Hey guys,

I need your opinion on this although I'd have a feeling this is modified like the rest of his auctions.

As you know if you read my post above Vlad's, the missing serial numbers are the biggest give aways that these cards aren't 100% authentic.

Now, this one has surfaced on his auctions BUT, it is serially numbered /10. I know this card exists in real life because Beckett's says so but do you reckon this card has been modified in any way? I'm thinking of the patch has been changed because it is to good to be true type of patch, from Fleer releases anyway.

What do you all think of this card? I've since e-mailed him to enquire about the authenticity of this card. He didn't lie about his other auctions to me and clearly said the others have been modified and he bought those cards from the Fleer auctions, so his honesty is appreciated. :)

Yeah, I'm watching a few of his cards too. I messaged him about them, as they didn't have the serial number. I wonder if he modified the #'s out, to protect the buyer?

Anyway, thanks for the info. I did decide to watch his items and not bid on them.

clarkeys,

He didn't modified the serial number because he admitted to me that there isn't any serial number on any of those cards except for the one I just posted earlier.

Again, reason being, he got them from the Fleer auctions as a blank card.

personally, from an ethical standpoint, i wouldnt give him my business. hes a dodgy seller and we shouldnt support him to keep on duping noobs into paying for fake cards.

i wouldnt read much into his 'honesty'...you confronted him about obviously fake products, what was he going to do, deny it? hed look like an ass. real honesty would be detailing the fakeness of the cards in the auctions themselves.

Im with jza on this 1... If he sent me a reply admitting they were indeed fake or tampered with ide be sending ebay a complaint..
However typical ebay would as usual do sweet stuff all...and continue to let him pass of his duds to unsuspecting collectors...
BOOOOOO...heheh

i must have emailled asking about shipping to Australia and I got a reply!! WIll be interesting to see if he replies to other questions:

Add $1.00 to the shipping charge to ship this item. We can only accept money orders and cash when we ship internationally.

Thanks,

Nah mate forget it.... Apart from making a stand for principles - he is ripping other clueless ppl off, he sounds like a good liar to me. A good liar always comes up with some good bullshit when they are confronted. Sounds like he is giving you the classic I did this but I am not doing that line. For example a 6y.o kid is suspect of stealing a lollipop and a whole goddamn box of roses and is confronted by the shopkeeper. The kid would admit to the lollipop to get the shopkeeper off his back about the bigger stash. Am I making sense here guys! Probably not lol Just stay away eh mate.

Sorry dudes the thread I posted above this one was for Henkita. Now Billyhoyle mate... there is a reason why he won't accept paypal from international bidders... cos if the card turns out to be fake... Paypal would reimburse you 100% and give him a kick up the ass!

Yeah Billyhoyle i to asked a question about a card and got the same message back as you and after reading cliffys point its no wonder he doesnt take Paypal !!
