Hi to everyone I'm new on this site after people's opions on people buying bulk cases a good friend of mine told me he knows a bloke that bought 65 cases at $1800 a pop that's over $100k he swears that it's impossible to make money from esp cases surely you wouldnt spend over $100k if you weren't going to make a big profit?

Those guys have a variety of ways to get their money back from buying cases though.

Generally people buying the odd case here and there like most of us, No chance unless you get really lucky with the hits and even then mostly just break even

As a person who only does this card collecting thing as a hobby, I usually get a couple of cases of each NRL release. I do it for the fun of it and my kids love helping bust the packs. I keep what I want and unless you are able to offload everything you don't want early you will rarely make money unless, as Rob says, you get a really good hit or two in your case.

I have never purchased a case, always buy a few boxes and loose packets per release.

As above though I fully agree that if you are buying cases as a collector you shouldn't be doing it to make money. Every now and then you might get a massive hit or an extra hit but generally speaking that is not the norm.
