Yeah im watching too the umpiring is shocking
I think that the Umps must be from Adelaide listening to the commentators!
Free Kicks were bad the umpire down one end give away a free kick for a high tackle and the umpire down the other end doesn't for a high tackle

Lol finally was nice to get a few "GOOD" decisions go our (powers) way for once!
Im sick of seeing tredrea get mounted week after week without a free, yet if you were to touch reiwoldt or franklin like that youd be reported! lol.... or make them cry what ever....
But on a neutral point of view, watching games from all over the states, the umps have been terriable and the rule changes ie holding the ball is just rubbish also! Why change a game every year with new rules! its been around and highly supported for 100 years why do you need to change it!

dont know about franklin mate, this year he has tended to milk them a little more and the umps dont like it so they are letting even free kicks go as they must think he's milking it, thats his fault but still dont think he's getting the frees this year that he was getting paid for last year.
i too agree, umpires are soft as sh*t. why is it that an umpire can kinda push a player but if a player so much as puts a fingernail on them its 2 weeks, now that f*ckin soft. have a look at the tough rugby guys, now thats a rough tough game, why cant umpires let the game toughen up a little, the players want to but cant afford to miss weeks with a stupid suspension

There is actually no fact to base this, it is just a one eyed statement. We all feel like this when our team gets the wrong end of the stick, but to make claims like that with out any substantial evidence is ludicrious.

If you guys are seriously only calling foul over the umpiring recently, then you haven't been watching much footy the last season or 2!!
And as for the favourable umpiring to certain teams/states... what a crook of sh!t!!!! Sorry, but the unpiring is shocking, unconsistant and one sided across the board, the only thing that changes game in game out, week in week out is which side is copping the raw end!!!
Im a one eyed crows supporter but have watched quite a few other games in recent history, and to me, its unbeleivable how inconsistent they are!! that is the one thing I can't get over, how a group of professioanl people, who all follow the same training and rule book can have such differing opinions and calls on different rules!! THAT is an absolute joke and the AFL need to address it somehow, someway!1 how do they do that? I don't know and don't really care, thats not my job, but there is people out there that get paid stupid amounts of money to look after this situations, so they need to do their damn job!!!!

It makes it hard as a fan, one week you yell out ball and the guy with the ball gets pinged. The next week he gets slung doing two 360's and then releases the ball and nothing, no holding the ball. ?? Arms chopped one week called and the next nothing.
Guys duck the head and its called play on, next week someone goes soft and puts their head over it and initiates high contact and they get a free.
Drives me nuts, the games from the start of the year to know are not even close to comparable.
Its no wonder some fans get called clueless. We all are!

Im disagreeing with the bullsh!t calls of favoritism, that you blatantly called towards the Victorian sides. I then went onto explain why I think the umpiring is/has been crap for a lot longer then people seem to think or remember!
You call biased umpiring, I called bullsh!t on that claim and gave my opinion! Not that hard to understand.

LOL at anybody thinking Franklin ever gets many free kicks. What has surprised me is that he actually got a couple soft free kicks the past two weeks. One each week. He is getting frustrated, because he is pinned for everything he does, but isn't getting anything even when mauled.
Wouldn't want to be at the bottom of a pack with brown and gold stripes either cos you'll be holding it, regardless.
Although I think Collingwood had it tough for half the game against Hawthorn last week. But in general the umpiring consistencies have been shocking in every game.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Hawthorn get a good run with umpires while they are still finals possibilities, Cause I think the AFL simply wants to make money. Hawthorn in finals = money and thus the umpires may be more lenient with us until we screw up finals chances.
I think it is all a rort to be honest. Especially when you see what Geelong on ballers get away with.

Are you illiterate? I've read over my post 3 or 4 times, because I know I can ramble on and not make sense when I get my goat up! And it makes perfect sense.
Your whole reasoning behind the disgraceful umpiring argument is the fact it's biased towards Victorian sides. But that's not the way it is at all, if you watch any game that doesnt involve your own team, so you can get rid of the biased side of things, you'll see this!! My example is I watched the Essendon vs Crows game a few weeks ago, and Im a mad one eyed Crows supporter, and I even sat back and though that Essendon really got hard done by most of that game! It's different from umpire to umpire which is the real problem!! Biased opinions are worthless mate.
