Iverson? Seriously? Hope he never, ever shows any sort of mental traits that are remotely like Iversons. Iverson is almost the last person I would use in there, sorry Aram!
If he's not ready, he's not ready, simple? If he goes out there and plays before he wholeheartedly believes he is ready to go again then it will not work out well for anyone involved. The Bulls would get their star back but he would be second guessing himself all the time, not playing to the best of his ability and would become a liability rather then the superstar he really is!! For him, he would be over thinking every movement which to me, is more dangerous and more likely to cause him a re injury!
I totally understand where you and a lot of other people are coming from, and it frustrates the s*** out of me time and time again as a life long Bulls fan but at the same time I'd rather he be mentally capable as well as physically capable!
It sounds like he has some confidence issues and perhaps people are questioning him as a way of trying to fire him up.
Once he gets a taste of playing again, it might push his desire to be the great player he has been in the past.
Why wait any longer. His team has already taken one big scalp and even if he came off the bench and see how he goes. Once that competitive fire starts raging, who knows what he might be able to achieve in this years finals
Maybe it is time he puts on some Nike's and just do it.
That is probably half the problemI don't think Adidas would be too happy with that considering the deal they signed with him last year
What if he goes out there, and due to the rush, he gets injured for another year?
Some great points James. How long ago did you break your ankle ?Getting over injuries defiantly relies on being mentally ready just as much as being physically ready. Players like Greg Oden, Travis Outlaw, Brandon Roy (wow .. all Trail-Blazers) are certain players who threw their careers away rushing themself back into the game. Rose still has so much to achieve it would be heartbreaking to see him go down again. I broke my ankle about 6 months ago and have only recently gotten back into playing and was so nervous to jump I quit REP for a season, I defiantly see where he is coming from when he states he's not mentally ready. It's terrifying to sprint, jump, dive for loose balls etc. after coming back from such a serious injury. I mean I'm not comparing D-Rose to myself ofc! ... the kid has no match
