I've had enough. Clearly the moderation on this forum is a joke. You have members like JZA who call out the most respected poster on this forum over $10, and when someone speaks out, he posts personal and public threats. Still, the moderators do nothing. I'm through with this place. Please delete my ID immediately. End of.
 
Don't worry Jimmy, i'll be fixing it up today. Those members have contributed nothing positive towards this place in the recent weeks. It's time for them to take a walk. :smt021 :smt021
 
Why have we had to resort to this. JZA was a good member of this board up until someone took one of his posts the wrong way. I am not saying that his PM threat was a good idea but he was only responding to an embarrising poll that was posted by another member.

Why has all of this come to a head all of a sudden. The original argument was started by Shoes (after insulting chads price on his gaze card) and still nothing has been done about his "post whorish" ways. 22 posts per day and not even half are constructive/informative. I would even go out on a limb and say that everyone is sick of him. He changes the subjects of posts and posts useless posts. A few examples are Chads for sale post, and this, and this.

As Lockymac mentioned in another thread he has started coming here less because of people who "postwhore" and shoes would have to be the main offender. If we start losing members like him and gaining more like shoes....i will be joining Locky.

I am not saying that I dont post a lot but i think i contribute more than shoes!!

In closing, i think that Jimmy's request to leave is a justified one but also could be avoided if some simple measures were taken...ie. Give shoes and others like him a warning about useless posts and staying on topic!!
 
Let me just put it this way DVS. Shoes has had NUMEROUS warnings and other warnings were posted on all three threads that flared. If they don't get the idea then well they have no one else to blame but themselves. Nip in it the but now. Members like Shoes wont become the norm because they will be weeded out. No need to worry there and members like yourself and Locky are the foundations of this place.

Shit like this wont be tolerated for so long next time. The admins don't like being hard arse but its clearly needed at times to keep this the way it was.
 
Shoes was warned on more than one occasion by myself and other admins, but he chose to ignore.

JZA made a threat of violence against another member, and that will never be tolerated. He brought it upon himself.

Also...will public embarrasment be tolerated anymore...i.e. JJ's poll for JZA etc.

I dont want to cause anymore dramas but i think it should be made clear!!
 
guys! it is sad to see this all blow up. I agree with DVS.. I have been thinking that all this was started by shoes. Without trying to inflame the situation or butting in.. I feel that JJ and JZA have been what I thought were good members until this stupid blow up. To the mods may I make a suggestion? Give JJ and JZA one more chance as I believe this is their first offence? Suspend them for a few days to cool them down then let them back in and see what happens. If they haven't calmed down then.. then whatever you guys decide.. if it is a ban so be it. But is a second chance too much to ask for first time offenders? Also can something be done about shoes? Thanks. Also if anyone gets offended by this post.. please don't take it out on me. I am merely suggesting a solution that might be best for everyone.
 
to stop the post whoring I think the anti flood measures might need to be upped, a long limit on words per post, and time between posts would cut the likes of shoes and jimbo...

I think its all gotten out of hand. chadjaja tried to sell a card, a few of us mentioned that he got it on ebay just a few weeks ago at x price. Shoes then continued it...it then got out of hand....then all of a sudden JJ pipes up, JZA fires up because he doesnt appreciate the personal attack in a public forum....JJ didnt need to stir the pot

all in all I blame andrew gaze.
 
I have to admit, that while I do post a lot.... 90% of my posts are legitimate, but I have definitely felt less inclined to be here the past couple of days because it has felt a lot darker around here with personality clashes. So I wanted to stay well away from them.

I'm glad that the mods have made a move to quell these issues before they become ridiculous. It's just sad two members had to come to loggerheads like that.

I'm hoping everyone takes something from this and realises if there is an issue with another member, try and address respectfully via communication, without public humiliation or threats of violence.

Because it really isn't pleasant to be around.
 
This is crazy.

This problem should have ended and finished when JZA apologised to Chad and Shoes accepted his irresponsibility actions.

There was no need for the ****ing poll to humiliate an individual member after the situation was set back to peace.

IMO, without the unnecessary poll, there wouldn't be any such threats or bans.

All involved should've got a warning.

Whatever happened to those suggestions to take this type of matter into their PM box rather than exposing it on the public forum? Some contradictions right there...
 
There's no need for Members to worry about this place becoming darker, or awkward to be on while there are some tiffs happening.

It's up to those individuals to sort it out, and the Mods to help em.

I'm not saying I agree/disagree with what's happend, but I think we should all concentrate on the Mavs/Spurs game today.

Nah that bit was just a joke. We should all move on, and appreciate the rules of this forum, and get back to the Avery Bunch.
 
mods - can you please confirm that shoes and JZA have been banned as opposed to suspended? Is JJ going to get off scot free? As soon as we hear it from you guys we can move on.
 
LOL Scotty. I was about to flame you for whatever you were gonna post assuming you're gonna explode again, but instead I agree to what you said. :lol:

I totally missed out on everything and just saw this now.

I think the best way for all the other members to do is to just move on and learn from this. We have to trust our mods that their decisions aren't biased and is only for the good of the forums.

I've said it even before the forums were moved here, that this place needs stricter administration, or it will result to crap like this. We aren't a bunch of randoms anymore. I think it's fair to say that OzCards represents the best collectors in Australia, and so we should be respectable. If we had a forum where anything can go, then I don't wanna be here.

Differences of the new forum to the old one:
Swear words are filtered out now even if there are still a lot.
People are actually getting warnings now and are listening.
A good team of mods- rather than just Kyle and Tezza before.

Another thing- We've developed some good relationships here. I know a lot of people talk, and know each other personally. But if we let that come first, then this will only result to a smaller level of "mateship" turning into "violence". Let's all appreciate the rules as Scotty said and keep trusting the mods.
 
I don't think anyone should get banned at all.

2 experienced forum members just lost the plot a bit, but these situations happen from time to time.

I think it's a harmless joke gone wrong :rolleyes:

The thread should be deleted, but probably archived by admin for future references, cause a similar thing is bound to happen again as the forum continues to grow. More personalities means more potential for conflicts.

Anyhow that's my 5 cents
 
The two members in question are just having a break till this can be sorted out.

JJ has been spoken to about his poll. It was perhaps out of line, and couldve been raised with Admins, rather than in the matter it was.

JZA made a threat against JJ and I don't care how many polls or posts were made, there is NO EXCUSE for threatening to come around with his "mates" to any member at any time. Also, any attempts to discuss the issue with JZA, he accused me of being a hypocrite, and I was just defending my "mates". If he doesn't respect an admin, then who does he respect?? **** off to Beckett, I say. I'll gladly send JZA his money back if that's the only issue. We don't need that shit around here.

Shoes was also warned on more than one occasion by ALL 4 ADMINS to settle down on the post whoring, but again refused to listen. He even post whored on the threads we warned him about it.

If Shoes or JZA want to email us to discuss why they should be allowed back here, then by all means, email me direct and the Admins will discuss it.
