Cryptozoic - The Hobbit

Was wondering if anyone has been able to preorder some cheap boxes of the Hobbit anywhere online? A couple of sites had some cheap but have since sold out, I have once site I can buy from but they are almost double the price of others and I would obviously prefer to get more boxes for less cost Any help would be appreciated!

Can't help you mate, wanted some myself, but the presales have all sold out it seems. Hope there'll be some boxes available around release date as I'll be looking to pick up at least a few or a case if the price hasn't skyrocketed.

Looks to be a great set, though I think I'll like the next set better - Tauriel autograph and sketches please!

I am really glad that Martin Freeman is a confirmed signer. Ages ago the details were limited/sketchy and it seemed odd/disappointing that he wouldn't have a signature card.

I will keep my eyes out guys and let you know what I find re: box prices.

From what I have read on the Blowout forum and other sites, this set seems hugely popular and you will be doing very well to find boxes at RRP. Good luck though.

Yeah someone mentioned on the blowout forum that the price of a case of Hobbit has gone up from $675 to $1115. Makes me feel a little better about spending a larger price for boxes here in aus. Still kicking myself though for not preordering some boxes while they were still cheap :/ At the moment have 1 box secured and another 2 possibly within next week

Not cheap, but they only charged a total of $20 for shipping on 4 boxes, so not a terrible deal in the end. This is my safety order, just so I shouldn't miss out on having some boxes of it to open !

I also spoke to D & A and they will have more available on the release date, but not sure of the price or how quick it'll sell out. I'll likely try and grab some from them on the day as well, but I reckon they're going to go very quick and the price will likely be considerably more than the presale I'd think.

On July 9th, we will be releasing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Trading Cards. As fans of pop culture, we knew that The Hobbit would be a big deal, but the response that we’ve had to this set has far surpassed our expectations.

When creating a set with such hype, we always do our best to walk the thin line between producing enough and over producing. Our fans want more because the set is very exciting, but we are incredibly careful to avoid printing so much that the value is diminished. These are collectible items and mass producing them would ruin it for everyone.

Our other goal with every set is to ensure that only the top quality products make it into the hands of our dedicated fans. When doing our final checks for The Hobbit, we found that some of the boxes we produced did not meet our high production quality standards. These boxes were removed from the production line and will not be distributed.

Due to the slightly decreased total product and the incredibly high demand, we know that The Hobbit will be a little more difficult to obtain than we originally intended. We would like to apologize for this shortage and encourage our fans to watch for the upcoming set, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Really kicking myself now for not buying the pre-sell...boxes are available, but at double the pre-sell price !! Even makes the $99 boxes I have coming look pretty good!

Really liking what I'm seeing in the breaks - a lot of the sketches are very nice and the prices for sketches that have sold so far have been pretty crazy...

Anyway, I bit the bullet and ordered some more boxes, so fingers crossed I at least hit something !
