Okay - the season's over but I felt I had to make this thread to give credit to the Wests Tiger's team this season.

Everyone thought they weren't going to make the eight and turned out being arguably the most exciting team in the competition this year.

I'm distraught over the Dragon's loss but you win some, you lose some.

Good luck to The Roosters and Dragons next week and well done to all 16 teams this year especially the black and gold crew from the Tigers.

Good game Tigers. Better team won and the best player won it, Soward.

I think yu guys would have won if Beau Ryan didnt kick that last ball. Should have held it, quick play the ball then passed out right.

Good game and so close to 2010 Premiership!

i listened to the game on the radio so i have not seen it but what about the knees in the back? should it have been a penalty and could the tigers kicked the penalty goal?

:( I was hoping the Saints and Wests Tigers could win their flags on the same day because of the draw.

Now it'll be twice the Saints flags...maybe...

yeh well tigers,,,,,tried, lost and now roosters now have to knock the MP;s off. Tigers lost the best opportunity tonight....thats footy. not a fan of either but roosters now the runner.

Yeah well done Tigers, if the scrum rules hadn't changed for that semi against the Roosters, the chooks are planning next season and the Tigers wouldn't have lost to the Dragons until next weekend. =D>

dragons were very ordinary i thought but they won

Pretty ordinary........ .... to keep the games most flamboyant attacking side to zero in the second half, wasn't bad.

Wasn't intentional. In a regular season game it probably would have earned a penalty just for being careless. However, in a grand final prelim game that is tied with 10 minutes left and in kicking range i think someone would have to be near capitated for a ref to have the balls to blow a whistle.

The biggest problem i had with that incident was that it was the 5th tackle, the clock stopped for about 4 mins while Lote was seen to which allowed the team to discuss their 5th play option. When they did restart did the Tigers set up a play for Farah/Benji/Lui to kick a field goal? Nope, they passed two wide and Benji kicked it out on the full. That was inexcusable after having so long to work out what they were going to do.

On topic of the thread, i did think it was a great season for the Tigers. They were widely picked to miss the top 8 for the 5th straight season. They had the 2009 Dally M Winger of the Year on the sidelines all season. And i had already written them off myself for doing anything spectacular after a few weeks into season when Moltzen did his ACL and was out for the year.

I can't wait for next year with Tuiaki and Lote on the wings, Moltzen back in the fold and the up and coming big boys in Fifita and Murdoch-Masila...hopefully point scoring dynamo Jake Mullaney gets a crack at 1st grade too :)

Agreed the Tigers with a full playing roster available look very likely for 2011. Moltzen was a huge loss...

I still can't see the penalty in the Smith / Lote incident but I freely admit I am biased. Smith was going full tilt in cover and It seems as if Lote fell into them....

If he wasn't injured and Sheens etc didn't carry on in the media about it he would not have had a charge to answer IMO.
