so i, like many of you have a crap load of base, i'm not one of these people that dont appreciate base, i really do, ive assembled atleast 1 base set from every year since i started collecting, many sets im still working on. but its all the doubles, all the base from sets i have no interest in completing.
I have had trade lists up here in the past, managed to move some, but its really a drop on the ocean. and i cannot bare to just throw them away.
So how do we deal with all this unwanted base? what are some of the things you have done?
im considering making up some random assorted mystery packs, i have a niece 6, and a nephew 4, maybe ill start them off with 1 card from each team, from a mixture of different sets, see if i can get them interested in a particular team. then teach these young kids the ways of collecting.
then whenever i see them ill bring a few more random packs with me, with 10-15 cards, and ill charge them 5 of there cards to get a new pack.
then maybe if they really get into it, i can start throwing random inserts and cheap GUs in there. and teach them how these are more valuable.
it could be fun, but at that age, do you think they will actually get it? let me know if you think this would actually work to bring 2 very young kids into the hobby like this!
