Well I got the "other" 1998-99 Fleer Ultra Larry Johnson Masterpiece card in the mail today. I say "other" because I already had this (1/1) card in my collection. After looking over them very carefully there was only a slight difference I noticed. On the card I just bought recently (bottom scan, back of card) in the word "Edition" the letter "t" is slightly deformed. Other then that both cards looks exactly the same. (Corner is fine of the bottom cards, it's just the scan!). So I don't know if Fleer just made one of these as a possible replacement, error, from a sheet, etc...oh well now I have 2 of these cards.
Should I send this story to Beckett? From the scan the letter "O" in Only looks different as well?
Picked this "weird" Grandmama item up as well. It's a blow up doll (Don't even say it guys  ) ha ha...It was meant to be hung from the ceiling to act like Grandmama flew through the roof...pretty cool item!
Nice pick-ups Patrick. Good to see them both turn up in the one mailday too! Love the legs lol. I'd definitely write into Beckett enquiring about that Masterpiece situation. Would be very interesting to see what they think about it all, especially value wise on both 1/1's as individual cards. Wonder if anyone would know the story behind them. Keep us posted on what happens!
Thanks for the all kind responses guys, I have no idea why there is two of these cards....one could be a fake, maybe 2 were made for a possible replacement, maybe cut from a sheet who knows..
I will take them both to get looked at by Beckett or PSA during the next big card show..see what they say. I also sent a letter to beckett to see if they will publish this story, but I doubt they will.
As for the blow up legs I knew I would get some grief over this item..ha ha...my future wife hasn't seen these yet so I don't know what she will think...I expecting this reaction
