You miss my point. There are only two sides that can win the flag IMO, those two are a class above every other club in the comp. They might drop the occassional game along the way, but when the real stuff comes around they'll shine. No other club is even in the race.
i should also point out as an essendon fan, i've also see collingwood heartbreakingly beaten by 7 points 2002, and belted 2003... don't know whats better.. us winning one or watching you lose one when you all think your on top of the world
I REMEMBER THE 1996 SYDNEY V ESSENDON PRELIM FINAL, 1999 CARLTON V ESSENDON PRELIM FINAL AND THE 2001 GRAND FINAL WITH VERY FOND MEMORIES. ESSENDON THE GREAT UNDER ACHIEVERS.

mind telling me where your team was those days? and what they've acheived since then?
keep telling yourself we under acheived.. at least we where up there to contest the cup.. mind telling me if you remember your last premiership win? where you old enough to enjoy it.. or just go with the flow?

i am 31yrs old i was at the 1990 grand final (still have the ticket) to see essendon kick 5 goals for the whole day. And i have gone to just about every match Collingwood has played in Melbourne since i was the age of 7.

As bad as it is guys, the bombers are rebuilding simular to the Pies a few years ago. They have a few handy players and the rest are just useless. Winderlich, Bolton, Rioli & the Johnson's just to name a few.
On the other hand, the reason why Collingwood is performing is because we have our full squad on the field and havn't changed much of our list since 02' and 03'. With a few little differences here and there. Dale Thomas keeps gettin better and better and other players are stepping up.
IMO the Bombers have been pretty unlucky, but shit happens hey.
The Reason Collingwood are going so well is simple when you finish down near the bottom you get better picks something they know alot about and yes the dont have any injuries YET!! All team get injuries its who you lose that will shape your season
Part of the reason why Collingwood are playing better this year is due to Buckley and Rocca playing at the moment. Also some more youth coming through, as far less injuries to Collingwood compared to last year. Essendon have lost their key forward (Matthew Lloyd) for the year. Until that stage I didn't think they had been too bad at all. Now I think their season is shot to pieces. Just shows what even one injury to a star player does to a team.
exactly, so when Collingwood lost the likes of Buckley, Rocca, Didak, Tarrent, Clement, Fraser and Reece Shaw for long periods throughout last season i dont see where or how people can say we tank games?
But its all good cos when the Pies are down, usually the first people to put us down are Bombers and Blues supporters. Now that the tables are reversed i say suck it....
