TIEBREAKERS: Black Division West Oz Cards - Seattle Supersonics (7)
Nichj99 - Los Angeles Lakers (7)
I'm sure everyone will agree that voting was incredibly tough - every division had a third or forth team that was only 1 or 2 points behind getting through.
The tiebreaker will be open until 11pm AEST time tomorrow, Monday 18th May.
Please vote based on a head to head basis only. If these teams were to face off, who would get the win?
The most votes by close time will proceed into taking the final black division spot.
All GM's are open to vote, except that of the Sonics and the Lakers - for obvious reasons.
So, for the next 24 hours, it's over to you guys! vote away!
Voting scoreboard:
West Oz Cards - Seattle Supersonics (6)
Nichj99 - LA Lakers (4)
As much as both teams look awesome, in a head to head, I think I have to give it to Seattle, even though that Lakers team is a fairly good one from where they drafted from
While I appreciate the recognition @drobfan8 , the reality is that current players that are in the mid - high tier are always going to get more recognition than those that were in the same tier in the 60s, 70s and 80s. People forget or never got the chance to appreciate them. That is the risk I took when I made my picks. It isn't the fault of the voters. If anything, it is an opportunity for them to take some time and look up just how good some of these guys were!
In positive news, the votes definitely got it right choosing the Bulls in our pool. That team is NASTY!!!

I agree with you and drobfan8 about there being a lack of respect for old school players...but why belittle me and single me out because of my team and the fact I did ok...I think that aspect is pretty crappy really and unfair, I don't and wouldn't stoop that far...

I don't think it was aimed at belittling to you Aram. Your team is filled with current, young players, more so than any other team is so it was the obvious example when trying to point out the comparison of older players vs newer players. It is a choice you made to go with players that tearing up the league NOW. It was obviously a good tactic, as it worked. There are a lot of people voting who may not of heard of or appreciated the old guys, but even more so, there are a lot that think the modern players are far superior in general and would dominate the league the way it used to be played.
I do think that the comments should probably have waited until after the entire competition was finished as they may prompt voters to look differently from here on out, but knowing Benny, he would not have intended to upset anyone or manipulate the results in any way...

Again I am sorry. I've argued both sides of the "current crop" vs "legends" before. It's always a great topic of discussion.
I don't think I ever belittled your team. It's a gun side. I do realize it wasn't needed for me to comment on during the voting process though.
I'm just amazed that a team of guys that have hardly won anything in the League could beat out teams that have some of the best all time and have won multiple championships.
Those Camby/Shaq and Rodman/Wilt combos would be extremely hard to score against.
Did I see that you were doing the voting for the Grand Final using some sort of simulator? Does that take stats in to account or is kind of just a random thing?
Interested to see if there's a player rating system out there.
Ok, I know its still 4 minutes before the deadline... however me getting 3 votes is highly unlikely in this time so I declare @West Oz Cards - Seattle Supersonics the tie break winner, congrats Benji!
