I'm doing this on Sunday, mostly for Grinspoon and Shihad, as I don't really know any of the other acts on both days, but also mostly for the free unlimited rides!! It'll be awesome. Loud music, beers, roller coasters..
Can anybody tell if any of the other bands on the Sunday are worth seeing?
Norma Jean is a pretty huge rock/hardcore/punk band from the states, though I haven't listened to much of their stuff.
Against Me are pretty big too, a lot like most of the bands on Fatwreckchords label and Rise against!
The Draft are wicked, former members of Hot Water Music, very anthemic songs, get the album before you see them because you will be singing along to every song!
Few other nice names in there, but that looks like one awesome concert! Enjoy!
man you have to see Cog. I saw them friday night and they blew me out of the water. Their drummer is deadset one of the best drummers in the world MACHINE LIKE!!
Come Together Festival would be a blast, i envy you
So I saw Cog at the request of you guys and maybe I'm just getting old but they were a bit heavy for me And they have some epic songs but they're kinda catchy as well. Shihad and Grinners were very cool, I'm always happy to see those guys. We had a lot of fun with the free drinks and free rides, we were on the dodgem cars for almost half an hour! And thank Jeebus for stopping the rain so it could be a great day!
Jon I love Grinspoon's early stuff, Cog was cool, it was just their bass guy that got me with his roaring into the mic every now and then. The drummer was pretty cool, he had a neat solo during one of their songs 'Double Triple' I think it was.
EDIT: When I saw Grinspoon last week at the Metro, they were supported by a band called Children Collide and I'm getting hooked on them a bit at the moment? Do you know them?
nah i'll have to have a listen to that Children Collide band.
Fair enough view on Cog, they are starting to become huge though and so is Karnivool. They are one of the most energetic bands ive seen live, that drummer just doesnt stop lol he is a machine.
Man Guide to better Living was GOLD, i love that album to death. I like all their work until they got to that Thrills, Pills crap
Black Friday and Just Ace are dope songs
with the roaring backing vocals, hate to say it but that seems to be the norm these days in music. Alot of people are doing stuff like that with the mic. I dont find his too bad at all though but thats probally cause i listen to bands like Slayer, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage and so on lol
have you heard Karnivool, or see them? That might be more up your alley!
