Hi Guys,

Just interested in an opinion regarding the following:

I have just purchased two small, (relatively) low value items on eBay. The seller won't combine postage for me on these items, even though the cost of mailing two items would be exactly the same as mailing one item.

Am I being unfair to the seller if I direct them to mail the two items to two separate locations since I am being charged for two lots of postage?

Cheers, Poita.

Maybe not 2 different locations but make sure he sends them both separately as thats what you adre paying for. I still can not understand why sellers do this, they try to make a couple of extra dollars by pissing off the customer!

mate tell him you want the cards to arrive in 2 separate envelopes. if they arrive in the one envelope neg the b@stard....i HATE it when this happens....

If you read the auction terms before bidding it may help. Did you ever think about the extra weight may cost more?????

And when you say combined, do you mean they are charging you twice or just adding extra to the original post price?

BTW: How about an intro in the new members section.

It's fair if he is charging you a little extra for combining postage, everybody does it..... but if he is flat out refusing to combine postage & wants you to pay the FULL rate on both items won then....

Totally agree with this!

Yeh agree with most of above. Also, if they refuse to combine postage, I pay for each item individually with a few days apart so it costs them more for postage , stamps etc .

The highlighted part isnt the responsibility of the customer, its the seller! How in the hell is the customer suppose to determine postage cost on weight, etc etc!?!?!? Its the freaking sellers job! Geeze......

He stated that he won 2 different items, and the seller won't combine, in that case the seller should, according to ebay rules and just general decency should send both the items separately and not try to make extra money off of postage which ebay supposedly do not allow!

If the seller sends together and the postage is a decent amount less then what you actually paid for postage, then neg him and you should even be able to partial claim for the postage rip off!

I always ask before I bid as I've been stung like that before. ASSUMPTION always ends in tears! Only one way to make sure they are in separate envelopes - give a second address and say that one is for a friend or something

This really annoys me!! I even hate it when you pay $6 for international postage and it shows up with $2.50 on the envelope...

Of course you can have them sent to two locations. If he's charging you separately for postage you're entitled to have it delivered to two, though you might have to pay separately.

It can be frustrating but there's nothing wrong with it as long as it's stated in the auction. If it's not and then they hit you with an inflated charge that's BS.

Firstly were they 2 card,2 boxes because if it is 2 cards they should combine but if 2 boxes or multiple cards the weight may be more therefore cost more, just curious.

Its been said a million times before, if your not sure if they combine postage ask. If you don't like the postage rates, factor it in to your end price or don't bid on it. People that leave -ve for their misinterpretation don't deserve to be on ebay.

Theres no misinterpretation... If you don't combine postage then fking don't! Don't say you don't combine then combine the items and keep the extra postage money, its called stealing! Negative is more then acceptable in that case! Yes, if you didn't read it and they don't state they combine or the like and then you expect them to combine then tats your own fault! But if that's the case, you can and should also expect the items to be spent separately as the seller states!!!! Not that freaking hard, seriously!
