Clarke Gets Batting Advice from a Teenager

Good stuff, Clarke played that well he was on a hiding to nothing, kid was good too, not only asking the question but having an answer for it..

Seriously. I think he has fallen into the trap of trying too hard. He is desperate to do well. He needs a holiday in Israel.

Agree Ron.

I am arguably the biggest Pup fan on here and even I think he is in need of some good "park" cricket. He is over playing everything and yet he is seeing the ball quite well. He is seriously playing to far away from his body and trying to belt the cover off the ball when the ball is in his "shot" zone. Needs a good solid innings to spark some much needed confidence and not necessarily an innings needed to win a game. Come in early yet bat through the order just rotating strike and getting some much needed time in the middle.

Don't think Clarke deserved a raspberry from the Brisbane crowd when he went out to bat. Must have been a lot of pommies. In the end he hit the ball quite crisply for his 54. Hope the worst is behind him now. Wish him well.

That was am absolute disgrace from the Brisbane crowd!

Yeah, I'll admit I've always had a soft spot for Clarkey. But regardless of that, for the Brisbane crowd to boo him as he's coming out to the ground, having already (with his team-mates and the English players), forfeited his pay-check to go toward the flood appeal, was disgusting, in my opinion! And this, on the same day Clarke even manned up and said he'd go back to grade cricket to find his form again (as opposed to some other players who stick their heads in the sand and say nothing's wrong..)!

Agree boys, the boos were disgusting !! ...... It is fair to mention however he was applauded heavily for his 50 and many infact stood and clapped him off when he went for his 54. As previously mentioned, innings like that is what Pup needs to regain the confidence of last summer. Nothing huge, not a game winner but and innings of substance supporting the hitters around him.

Poor form on the booing, but it's understandable. The boy from Bondi, multi million dollar apartments/cars/bingle/matchmaking on twitter etc etc, not easy for most to relate to when you compare to Punter, SW, Tubsy and AB, that have all had their "battler" qualities... Sure he gave up his match fee but that's pocket change to him as most would see it.

I am not really buying into the sudden transformation of the aussie ODI team under Clarke, especially in the lead up to the world cup, sure we are winning and the whole vibe around the team seems good, but I think it might be misleading coming into a WC in India

Beating england on our own turf/conditions in the short form
England aren't even fielding their full strength team
England are ranked 5th in ODI's
England got what they came for (that little urn, its been a long summer for them playing a few lead up 4 day tour matches, honing their skills while we struggled against sri lanka in some pointless ODI's that meant nothing, voiced my concerns a year ago here http://www.ozcardtrader.com.au/forum/cricket-cards-general-discussion/71585-2010-11-aussie-cricket-schedule.html)
Need I go on
