Just thought I would start this to have a bit of fun and see who can guess some of the off season moves and trades.

The idea isn't necessarily to be entirely logical, but to simply mention who you think the each team will look to deal/trade/waive, meaning you don't need to assess logistics to the point of 3 way trades etc. Obviously you would want to consider whether people are in/out of contract, but that is about all.
I was originally going to list all teams, but it would be a real stretch to make guesses for every team, so maybe just note which teams you have ideas on.

I'll kick it off with:

Spurs - To trade either Blair or Splitter in an attempt to lure another tall to the lineup. It needs to be an aggressive offensive player, with good defensive attributes cough*KG*cough. lol
Have also read that the C's are showing some interest in signing Danny Green which would add weight to the possible deals. Ainge has gone on record saying he has not 'ruled out' re-signing Ray Allen and KG, but one would hope for something a little more committed?? Otherwise, I can't see them moving anything else, even though there is a big need for a backup PG for Parker.

Timberwolves - Rumours that Beasley is on his was, possibly to LA as both teams have shown interest. Other than that, I think they would want to maintain a very similar roster to what they had in 11/12 as they showed some huge potential early, before injury struck

Lakers - I think most of us are expecting some real moves to happen around here in the off season. Many are suggesting up to 5 roster changes including moving Pau, regaining Odom, looking at Lowry etc etc. Personally, I think Beasley is a done deal and would probably be done with little given up. I think the Wolves wouldn't mind moving Johnson too, but not a lot for him to do in LA with Kobe around!

Bobcats - This is an interesting one for me. I don't think they should be making there team with the sole intention of rebuilding. Of course that is what they need to do and will be getting some half decent picks to help, but I think they need some star power NOW. Only for the purpose of bringing some positive attention back to the team. After last season, they are only talked about because of the record they broke for the worst season, but someone with real flair and explosive talent could reignite the support they need. I have heard about Rudy Gay being an option, but the Grizzlies claim that isn't going to happen??

Your turn!

Agree with the Beasley to LA move.

Not sure where these guys will end up, but I am predicting a move!

Ray Allen - Celtics
OJ Mayo - Grizzlies
Dejuan Blair - Spurs
Andre Miller - Trailblazers
JR Smith - NY

I have a big feeling that JR Smith will stay with the Knicks, he just loves NY city to much to leave.

But can NY fford to keep him? They have so many players coming out of contract including Lin and Novak. One has to go! But who? I can see him fitting into the Bulls backcourt nicely or the Lakers...

If they let Baron and Toney Douglas go that would be another 3mil they could spend on him.

Yeah, a couple of weeks ago I was with you on the Blair one, but after the playoffs and some of the talk about who they are looking at, they seem to be chasing a tall defender with aggressive offense, which makes me think Splitter will go. Blair has a very different game to Splitter (well, different to most bigs), so there will still be a use for him. That will come down to whether or not they can sign Diaw again.

The Grizzlies have now come out and said that they will match any offer for Mayo, which is odd considering he was mentioned several times in trades this year. I think they are just trying to scare off any 'buyers' and only entertain effective trade offers!

And Miller already left Portland for the Nuggets. The Blazers do need to get a PG back though!

I have read that too. I think if it is up to him, he'll stay, but it probably won't be his decision I suspect

I did mean the nuggs, they have Lawson looking after the point position, maybe a band-aid fix to the bulls backcourt with no Rose?

antawn to leave cleveland. he's done his course with the cavs, great guy, hope he can get a ring before he retires.

cavs are still at least one season away from playoffs, so why now just get good picks this season, then spend big next season. some good free agents in 2013, so looking forward to that!

Lakers aren't interested in Beasley and I've read tweets from Larry Coon that NBA rules will mean we can't pick up Odom. The one thing I'm convinced that will happen is Pau will be traded.

Pau is going, I think only Kobe is safe now really, I think Beasley would be an ok addition but the Lakers would get no further post season, they definitely need something big to happen. (I'd like to see someone like Joakim Noah or Kevin Garnett come to the Lakers although unlikely). I think sessions is expendable (hello Westbrook?) as is Gasol, who knows maybe even Bynum. Lakers will be the team to watch and who knows if it's slightly out of the square and they're brave in their decisions (like the Chris Paul trade WOULD have been) I think the Lakers can give a finals appearance another shot

We'll agree to disagree on Beasley, Phil, and I think Bynum is safe.

Amendment to my first post - it was the Laker Nation twitter feed that said Odom can't sign, and even then it is based on the CBA that says any traded player can only re-sign with his old club after one year...meaning he would have to sit out the first 6 weeks of next season - http://www.lakersnation.com/nba-will-not-change-lamar-odom-trade-rule/2012/06/09/

So here's my two cents worth: Firstly a word about my Pacers. Unless NOH are willing to let Eric Gordon walk for nothing (word out of NO is that they'll match any deal) then Pacers should not do much but keep getting better from within. Hill, Collison, George, Hibbert and possibly even West (given a full preseason) will all be even better next season, and let's not forget how they finished the regular season once the team was majority healthy.
Secondly, a question about Brooklyn Nets. If Williams walks, and with no 1st round pick this year, then are they next seasons guaranteed Wooden Spooners?
