My boy plays in the Canterbury comp and 80% of the teams are connected to RSL/ leagues clubs ,some of the highest turnover pokies in Sydney and they contribute the bare minimum. Not sure where all the money goes ?
I know a fella who works for Panthers in maintenance of their stadium. He said that he saw bills for fertiliser for the ground at $30 000. And this gets billed every couple of months. Supposedly it is the stuff that doesnt cause infections in players and is high grade but just an example of some of the crazy spending that can go on.

Was more talking about the junior clubs but you’ll find panthers is always in the top 5 pokie takings in Australia so I’m sure them can afford some chook poo lol

That probably explains why there seem to be less than a handful of Panthers card collectors (seriously) - they've all spend their money on pokies rather than cards!
PS: great piece of memorabilia to start the thread, I never knew about them.
Another interesting thing my mate tol me... After each nrl season they average about 90 broken chairs in the stadium at panthers. But when they had one Wanderers game they counted 89 broken chairs and grass damage to the field due to a flare being thrown.

There needs to be an inquiry lol. All jokes aside that’s how easy it would be to rort the cap. Or buy and investment property and rent it to someone at the club for 5x the actual market value rent . It’s only the clubs that do little rorts that get caught .
