Celtics v Heat 2011 Playoffs Second Round Thread **SPOILERS INSIDE**

If there wasn't this OKC/Memphis game on I'd probably be standing In the street waiting for a buss to hit me ... God I hate the Heat. SO much.

tough win for miami... its gotta be said that unless you are a heat fan, then most ppl will be hoping they lose. having said that, you must give credit when credit is due. yes its a shame that rondo got injured and shaq didnt play etc but the fact of the matter is, they hit clutch shots down the stretch and generally speaking finally made the celtics look old in this series.

i would think that changes are on the way in boston. time to break up the big three, with ray allen the most likely candidate as his play definitely suffered this year and particularly in the playoffs. they need to get younger and definitely more athletic. the jeff green experiment hasnt been a very good one so far but with an increased role next year, that may change. nate robinson leaving was a blow for their bench as he provided energy and athleticism from the second unit. they need to try and reclaim that somehow. simply put, the patch up philosophy that they have gone with cant continue as they cant keep these vets healthy often enough at the same time for them to be effective. they won that elusive and desired championship, time i think to close the book on this chapter and start fresh and look in a new direction as this team truely has done its dash

miami definitely gelling at the right time of year and no doubt they would be certainly feeling some sort of redemption based on the all the negative miami talk over the past 10 months

Unfortunatly the Championship window has now closed for The Celtics. It's Heat Time now. Lebron is truly a King!!!!

I wonder how they revamp now though..

Very good question.

I'd be guessing that's the end of Doc, Garnett & Ray Ray.

PP still has another 2 years???

Shaq has another year I think, it's fair to say it was a failed experiment. Need to move or retire him. Same as JO, I know he can play but age & injuries have caught up.

Injuries ended up killing our year, as well as the Perkins trade. Lets be honest everything started going pear shaped after that trade. Perkins team is still alive & is crushing skulls with Oklahoma, our season is in mothballs as JO & Shaq spent most their season on the pine managing injuries.

Murphy & Arroyo would be wishing they chose elsewhere.

The Rondo injury killed any chance of us beating the Heat as well.

I think it's fair to say Danny Ainge has a bit of work to do assembling the 2011/12 roster.

I'd say Danny Ainge should get the boot too, depends how far they want to take the blame for the trade debacle, as much as they it had no effect it was a stupid move mid season stuffing around with the team.

Rant over?? That was a classy way to sum up a series mate??

Congrats to the Heat - 4-1 doesn't lie - in crunchtime we folded like a pack of cards and LBJ stepped up - today and in Game 4 with that cold 3 at 81-84 (which Jimbo I stated at the time!). Wade shut up his critics too - he was pants vs the C's all year and was unstoppable in this series. I hate the way he parades around but I'll get over it as some of his plays are downright amazing!

I think they'll now win the league. I can't see the Bulls stopping them and hope they keep it in the East. I wouldn't say Go Mavs yet as I'm not convinced they'll win vs the Thunder or the Griz.

Anyway - props to the Heat - KEEP IT IN THE EAST!

You got it down right there Jimbo, LeBron haters will be LeBron haters but thats because deep down they know his the best in the NBA. They need to take a look at the last 3 pointer he made of game 4 and then the last two 3 pointers he made of game 5, it changed the series and the Heat won, the pressure was there and Lebron stepped up and murdered it, Im so happy for LeBron and the Heat right now....

Well the Heat ended it classy so that's all that matters. If Boston won it's not like the Celtics fans on here would be classy about it. And besides, afterwards I posted another comment saying how Boston is a champion team and they deserve a lot of credit.

That one was more for the LeBron haters, who have said far more vicious things about him this season than I did in that little comment.

Time to move on anyway, I wonder who wins out of the two series that are still active.

PS. It wasn't directed at you anyway mate. I have respect for you because you still remain neutral and objective about things, not always going the extra mile and turning things into a nasty debacle. Sometimes when I cop it though, I just have to give it back.

I feel sorry for Matt that his team went out. But happy that LeBron is getting closer to that ring. But what would I like to see more, LeBron win a ring or for the Heat to get beaten to shut jimbo(heat can't win a ring cause they have no bench)iitmac up?

Looks like you've got a bit of a dilemma on your hands

Also seriously man, when are you gonna let that go. I'm wrong, you're right. Happy now

no one gives the mvp a shot at leading his team all the way?
shame this epic thread has to end tho...

True, but if Bulls advance the Heat-Bulls thread will just turn into LeBron vs Rose.

Docs has pretty much said he wants to stay on Doc: I'll 'probably' be back
Garnett and Ray Ray could at least have one more year Ray is on a yearly one and he has had his best regular season stats for a while. No idea on Kev's. Shaq should be commentating and not much else now imo. If you cut Shaq and Kev thats a big chunk of money for some new talent right there. Bit of luck all the injured guys have great offseason prep and get their niggling injuries under control. Should see Bradley playing some more games next year too!

Oh stop it - you're making me blush!!

I'll tell u one good thing if Lebron wins a ring - the Kobe fanboys who just look at the ring count will have to shuffle their feet a bit...

As for the C's - it's too soon to see what might happen. Good to hear Doc is back - IMO he's the best coach in the league. You can't blame him for our loss - just execution at the end form the team and THAT TRADE DANNY.

Let's not even go there. Kobe fanboys won't say anything nice about LeBron till he wins 5 Rings.

Just watched this game, as I recorded it today and wow. Boston was in control the whole match, up untill Jones hit that 3. Then LeBron and the HEAT took over.

And did anyone see the LeBron interview with Craig Sager after the match? That's what you call, comments of a champion.

Love it dude

I did and I thought it was pretty genuine and cool.

Lebron was very humble in victory and deserves credit for that. What I think will be interesting is if the NBA decides to investigate whether the 3 of them colluded before they were free agents. Talk of getting together at the US trials seems to indicate they had a plan well before they were free agents. That's strictly against the rules. Anyone think Stern will have the kahunas to call it??
Me neither - either way hope they go well as they're decent enough guys

Godamn!! Way to close out a game (and a series) LeBron!!

Sucks that KG's only going to get one ring...

Still... Celts 4 - 2 Heat :v:
