AyiosYiorgos asked how to get rid of cats, he didnt invite members to come in and critique other peoples responses and not offer help - why do people do this??
It is wrong & illegal to harm animals but if they are considered a pest (could be feral cats) and it is intruding, causing damage, keeping you up at night and deterrents dont work, what do you do?
I am sure the majority of people here know what is illegal and wrong
sounds like the 'illegal' responses were only made in jest?
and this only started once a few legitimate solutions were come to...

Well if people didn't post stupid things like "throw a rock at it" or "drown it in a wheelie bin" & only posted proper responses then I doubt you'd get other people criticizing other peoples posts.
Must disagree on this.... drowning them in a wheelie bin is actually a humane way or disposing of unwanted feral cats oppossed to blowing their heads off with a shotgun like the animal control board do
Either way is cruel. But who's to say anyway that they are all "feral cats".
ohh and in my opinion. If the owners let their cat roam at night it is a feral, anyone who cares for their pets would have them somewhere safe and sound at night.

happy to hear a non cruel way of getting rid of nuisance cats...maybe when you wake up to find claw marks all over your BMW and cat excrement in your kids sandpit you may change your mind?
Yes I do agree with you on the last part..... but it's not the cat's fault if their owners are like that.
Also..... as for dealing with cats humanely & so I don't get criticized again for not helping, a quick google search led me to these pages:
How to Get Rid of Cats
Answers.com - How do you humanely get rid of a stray cat
Also..... not sure if they could help, but you could also contact the Humane Society: Humane Society International: Home
it sounds to me like the only problem you have is with the actaul "killing" of the cat and that's fair enough each to their own, because the articles you refer to echoes my statements ie: trap and dispose. but let me ask you this in regards to the trapping and Neutering theory...next time I catch one in the trap I will give you a call to come and get it out of the trap... make sure you wrap your hands and necessary blood vessells because it could get messy. Me..... once it is in the trap it ain't coming out on it's own accord. you must understand we live in the Rural area, where native bird life is abundant, does the cat care about cruelty when he tears a parrot to shreads...I don't hear you saying ohhh poor little parrot. As for the animal control board I approached them first and they said when you catch one call us and we will remove it. On a friday morning I caught one and rang them to be told Sorry we only pick up on Thursdays..WTF they wanted me to keep it in that cage for a week and feed and water the little s... NFW so I took it to a friends place to "deal with" who took it to his property (rural) and got his shotgun and opened the cage.. he gave it two options..(1) run fast....(2) Die....well option one didn't work.

LOL i didnt (but maybe i should have), i just questioned the reasoning behind this as I liked the jokes.
I guess its easier to be a troll than think of a way to help.
Another idea - get rid of the mice/food the cats like around your property.
