Cases of 2011 NRL Champions

That time of year again.

Tomorrow i'll have some cases arriving and will bust and scan the lot on here.

Good luck with them mate, i was talking to someone today who got theirs whilst i was on the phone with them so everyone will be getting theirs as well so let the games begin

OK,

Opened the first box and here are the results and a couple of observations:

NRL Rookies:
Drury Low
Albert Kelly
William Hopoate
William Isa

Stardom Gems:
Sam Thaiday
Lance Hohaia

Rookie Sensation:
Matt Gillett

The base cards this year are paper thin.

In the first box i've already gotten one parallel card that is completely bent on the top edge

The Parallel cards are really nice, like them heaps more then the ones we've had in the past.

The Parallel cards, and the Gems for that matter don't run in sequence this year (so you won't get 36 consecutive parallel cards in a box.

After seeing the inserts ratios for the AFL Champions i'm a little disapointed that the NRL series has been short changed. In fact, 7.25 inserts per box for NRL Champions and 11.25 inserts per box for AFL Champions....that's not a little short changed, that's a bit of a rip.

nice pick ups, i can see select getting a lot of mail containing cards for replacement

6 Parallel cards with bent bottom corners. Takes the total to 7 Parallel cards, 1 rookie card, 1 base card that have quality issues in only 2 boxes opened...not looking good.

Gotta say, after the initial interest in opening the new product the excitment is wanning fast. With only 7 packets with inserts and 29 packets with just base it isn't keeping me into it....maybe a signature can pick me up again.

yes they are a bit shy on the inserts side of things but yes a Mortimer signature will pick up the case for you

To give an example of how rare the inserts are, i'm halfway through box number 4 and haven't hit a single Tigers insert yet. Also, a lot more trades are going to be needed to complete parallels etc. They are completely random this year, i have over 100 of them and so far have a single tigers player yet have 3 Johnathan Thurstons already.
