Cards missing in the mail

Guys, I would like to hear some opinion on this one... I have agreed to a deal to trade some high end cards that include some high profile auto and print plate... the deal was agreed in early August and after almost 2 months, both parties have not received any package. I have definitely sent my end of the deal out because I know that... so that means my package has gone missing in the mail... and I have not received anything in the mail from him... no plate no nothing... so I am just a bit disappointed that this is happening because these cards are big and actually mean something. I have used the postal system for many many years and I say 99% things are delivered, and what are the chances that both packages were lost.... 0.01%. So I have a feeling that my cards have in fact reached the other end but the trader is saying it has not arrived because he fears that I will ask for compensation. I know it is a bid allegation to make, but it is merely my feeling because it is highly unlikely that both packages are lost.

These days with high end stuff I am almost leaning to using Fed Ex or like service.
You know it has to be signed for on the other end and you can track it.
Sorry to hear you didn't get your cards Brian.

If high end, was registered post used?

Even though the cards were high end, they were still not in the range that warrants registered post

I think it is sad to lose cards no matter how expensive they are... but the trouble being cards being lost of both ends... I just find it a bit suspicious... but the other trader has a pretty good reputation as well so it is also likely that he is honest.

Even registered post is no guarantee that it will get there, I have paid for all the extras etc and still goes missing...............what can you do..........now I tend to go registered and I get the appropriate AUPOST form stamped by the post office acknowledging receipt by them.

Same problem as Dave here. A registered parcel sent from Singapore has gone missing. I've got the tracking number and it never reached Australia though Australia post said it was delivered about a month ago...

Should clarify that the only reason I get the appropriate form stamped by the post office is for receipt of lodgement. Just sending it registered is not sufficient proof for PAYPAL that it was sent. So now I can produce the form indicating the item was lodged and receipted by the post office in case there is any claim.

I was in Burwood and once rang Aust Post about an Express Post satchel I had sent the day before to Chatswood.

They confirmed it had been delivered to Nth Qld about a week earlier. I asked how it could be and they said I was reading the label tag incorrectly.

I asked them how it could be and they told me their system didn't lie. I faxed them a copy of the sticker from the satchel and they swore blind it had been delivered to an address in Nth Qld. I re-did the documents and got a courier. That afternoon, the client confirmed they had 2 sets of docs, the Aust Exp Post and the courier.

I rang Aust Post back and they said not delivered to Chatswood but Nth Qld.

So that's why I don't trust em.

that sucks man, hope something works out. but i'm with you on the 'strange coincidence' call. with all my buying on ebay, there's only been 2 packages not arrive in 6 years and i'm a bit dubious on those 2 sellers. then again, maybe i'm one of the lucky few that has a good postie

Yeah its weird - everyone's different i guess. I have had nothing go missing in 10 years although i have had a few magazines i have sent out go missing.

I have a friend that works at Australia Post that swears as long as there is a return address it will get delivered eventually. I guess it does not take into account where they are just plain delivered to the wrong address.

What ended up happening. Did they produce the signature??

I'm sorry, but if the cards were valuable enough for you to be this upset and post a thread, then I think it warrants registered post...

Tough luck, hope they show up, or rather that he hasn't scammed you

All my packages are important but the main reason I post here is because both sides have gone missing and I find that quite suspicious... I hope it eventually shows up.

The other guy has a pretty good rep on the forum so I don't think he is scamming me... but I can understand that he maybe holding back on admitting that he got my package out of fear... to defend himself.

I think I have had less than 5 packages all up missing going both ways... it is never a situation I like to be in because then one side is going to want some compensation. I just feel sad because this is my first 1/1 and it has gone missing. I got a good deal and I only lost around $20 compared to what the other side has lost if he actually sent it.
