Here is a random Sunday evening thought, has anyone else noticed that this forum (and others like it) are looking like a defacto eBay substitute. It seems that everyone is out to make a buck from the hobby which then means its not a hobby anymore.

Collecting cards should not be about return, sales are still going to happen for sure, but it seems more often than not its a sale rather than a trade.

Also when it comes to the basics of card trading it seems lately that everyone is in it for themselves. Trading card etiquette has gone out the window and members put their hands up for cards and then don't honor their commitment.

Recently I heard of a member requesting boxes in a case share before pulling out of the share stating the product was crape then immediately putting their hand up for the same product in another share of the same series........that sort of behavior should not be tolerated.

I think we all, myself included, should have a good look at ourselves and we should strive to make this trading card community more about trading and helping fellow collectors out and not making a fortune off the hobby.

End of rant.

Well I'd like to answer your question Dave but then I'd have to kill ya  just jokin mate, but honestly I think there are many factors such as the GFC, high unemployment and the like and from what I understand ebay and paypal taking too much. But personally I'm still learning and I wouldn't want to swap a card like this only to find out I've been ripped and I've bought from members to build a base to trade off or sell when I eventually get set up as this is how the rehab told me to make a living but it's so hard but I hope to get there one day

Rehab tell you to take your hobbies to the next level but a lot is easier said than done :( But yes I find it hard to trade as I've offered cards I know about, but no good..so what are you after? I hope to get my act together and get a few things listed but I have to have the spare money to open another account as I don't like to give out my pension account details sorry. I try not to be too much of a turd but this is my future and my super as it's pretty much gone now so I have to watch what I'm doing. So I think it's sort of the sign of the times but I think it will change when things pick up again and more get employed. So I can't speak for anyone else but that's where I am as between my brain and back injuries amongst other things I'm pretty much RS but still here and that's what counts
