Card show a nice success!

Arrived early this morning and managd to pick up a few good bargains, including 14 autos, 7 gu and 6 rookie cards, including a luol deng UD star rookie UD exclusives paralell /25! To top things off, I won one of those free beanie bears that i sold off which covered the cost of all my cards + more. Managed to catch up with a few members, shoes and sonny to name a couple, others must of got there after i left (round 12ish). Anyways, i'll put up some scans later on the mailday section of what i got!

i was there mate from 11.30 to bout 1. I think i seen Shoes and Sash, but i cant speak, so i didnt introduce myself, i feel like an ass. But i got knocked out in footy yesterday and my jaw is fractured. So sorry Sonny and Shoesy.

Some good stuff there guys. I seen some stuff i really wanted, Parker, Arenas SP autos to name a few!!!!

Im thinking of gettin a site there for next year, how much it cost?

once again i came late watch the soccer then end up not waking up early. came around 2 p.m which was a little too late so andrew,gordon,rucker,shoe,rare air and sonny to name a few. done a few trades in there and bought 4 boxes 2 basketball and 2 baseball.

will open them soon after dinner.

actually i didnt spend any cash just trade my cards for boxes to sonny. i made a few dollars from other trade which was good. will post the box break soon.

Sorry to read about your jaw Magic.....I have had a few jaws from boxing and was once hit on the jaw by a cricket ball so I know what your going through.....lots of soup !

that was the first trade show i have have been to, and it was great to meet some people from this site, saw Shoes Baron Davis 1/1 awesome looking card. Gemz those Ultimate Signature cards look 10 times better in hand than they do by scan. I will definately go to the next trade show providing it isn't to far away, well worth going for a look.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it today. So for those that went....what's your opinion of how healthy the hobby is? I reckon Card Shows are a pretty good indication of how the hobby is travelling.....
Are crowds growing?
Is the number of stallholders growing?
Were there a few youngsters there?
What's the average age of collectors there?
What are people collecting (NBA, MLB, NFL, AFL, CCG etc)?
I'm interested in your responses and any other relevant feedback!!

most young'ins were collecting afl cards..
but then again i met quite a few people who collected basketball (around 18-25 age range)..

it was a good turnout overall for something that is not advertised well!

i was there around 12ish to about 2ish saw a few members there but i must of came abit to late cos i didnt see anything at the stores that i wanted. next time ill come abit earlier and also i didnt have that much cash on me..

But overrall it was a good day..

I think the crowd was pretty big, the carpark was pretty damn full.

Not too many Ball stalls though. However seen a few guys looking through Folders of cards and stuff!!!
