Can't help you with shops, but would love to know if you happen to come across an Authentic "Mavs" (Green) Jersey.... ;)

Good luck with your trip mate!

hey guys,
over the next five-six months i will be in

Los Angeles,

When I was over there in November I went to the Beverly Hills Baseball Card Shop. They had a huge selection of singles and boxes, and they were really great guys to boot. I was there with my wife for about an hour just chatting. I think they also have a lot of vintage stuff. Be warned though, this is in Beverly Hills and prices are inflated as such. So it may not be the place to buy your box, but it maybe worth a look for singles anyway. I caught the bus along Santa Monica Blvd and walked down from there. Its a fair hike, but I thought it was worth it in the end.

The address is:
1137 S Robertson Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90035, USA
(310) 278-4263

Here is a Google Map of where they are -> 302 Moved

There was also another place on the same road, which was closer to Santa Monica Blvd and i think this was it -> http://www.allstarcards.org/

It was not near as as good as the other shop, but it might be worth poking your head in as its not far away.

Good luck!

Cheers
Rick
