Can't create a signature?

Hi, do I have to hit a certain threshold before I'm allowed to create a signature? When I go to my settings, I have to option to edit my avatar, but no option to edit my signature. I clicked a link in the FAQ about creating a sig, but was told I do not have permission from the site to create one. Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Great! I hoped that was it. There was just a bit of a delay and I guess I got anxious! I can see it now, thanks for the response!
