Hi All,

I am busting open a case of the new NRL champions slowly over the next week and will give some feedback on what I think.

CASE CARD Anthony Minichiello 156

BOX 1

4 2010 Rookie Cards

Sandor Earl
Jake Foster
Corey Norman
Dane Hogan

1 Rookie Sensation

RS4 Shaun Fensom

2 Stardom Mascot Gems

MG7 Keiran Foran
MG 17 Lance Hohaia

I hit as per odds. I think this set is probably 1 insert set short. 7 for the box is a little thin especially since the Rookie cards are only foil stamped. The odds for the AFL later this month look a lot better with 11 inserts per box.

The parallel cards were a real mix

All four Checklist cards plus one double

4 Sharks
4 Raiders
3 Broncos
3 Roosters
3 Souths
3 Bulldogs
3 Warriors
2 Tigers
2 Dragons
1 of each Parra , Penrith, Titans , Melbourne

Much different to previous years when you would receive full teams in boxes.
Could well boost the price of full sets or increase demand for individual cards.

Common cards are definately thinner than previous series 1. I do like the parallel cards and different to other posts I have seen I have managed to get most out in very good condition. I think the design on the back of the parallel cards is also effective. I think the Rookie cards are a little bit of a let down. I thought they may be foil. The Rookie sensation are nice but will need to be looked after with kid gloves to keep in mint. The stardom gems are ok.

Have a look for a more detailed review and pictures coming to Gamedaytradingcards.com when it re-launches Tuesday 22nd March ( delayed from February).
I will also be selling cards from this case on ebay starting 22nd March in the re-launch of my ebay shop ( The Gameday Shop ).

Will post next Box shortly.

Under the odds on this one. But the signature makes up for it.
Once again a wide mix on the parallel with no more than 4 from one team.

Quality was good from this box again only a couple of parallel with slight damage.

The packets are hard to open. The best method is to snip the top and slide cards out together. Sometimes the parallel is the back card and sometimes it is protected by a common behind it. When it is the back card the most care needs to be taken.

Will be back with third box soon...

Box 3

4 Rookies

Dane Hogan
Luke Kelly
Sandor Earl
Kyle Stanley

2 Stardom Mascot Gems

MG5 Jeremy Smith
MG7 Keiran Foran

1 Rookie Sensation

RS3 Trent Hodkinson

A real mix of Silver Parallel again with the most of 1 team being 5 Melbourne storm

Quality out of this box was ok. A couple of slight bent corners on silver parallel.

At this stage at least the chinese can cut the cards square. No out of shape or incorrectly aligned cards so far as in previous select release.
Only 3 boxes opened so I should not count my chickens yet.

Box 4

4 Rookies

Isaac John
Matt Gillett
Luke Kelly
Nathan Waters

2 Stardom Mascot Gem

MG14 Nathan Merritt
MG10 Scott Bolton

1 Rookie Sensation

RS8 Matthew Duffie

Mixed bag again with the silvers no more than 3 of 1 team.

Back later with Box 5

Box 5

Stardom Mascot Gem

MG2 David Stagg x 2

Rookie Sensation

RS10 Will Tupuo

Rookies

Justin O'Neill
Jesse Bromwich
Joel Edwards
Will Tupou

A mix of Jersey again. I think I will have quite a lot of doubles and maybe not complete team sets judging on the first 5 boxes.

Will be back with the 6th box shortly.

Yes, i checked my Parallels after finishing my first case and despite having 432 Parallel Cards i did not have a complete (196) set.

This is actaully quite smart by select, i wonder how many sellers pulled sales from ebay already, and how many have ordered more cases because they cant fill the pre orders!!

After 4 cases I'm still 2 Rookie cards short of a full set...

Yer, that's what i said the other day....all those sellers that pre-sold parallel sets and individual inserts assuming they would be in every case no doubt found themselves without a paddle up a creek that had suspiciously brown looking water.

It took 3 cases to get a full set of parallel set of silver cards..

Oh, it didn't take me that much. Just goes to show how random it is. I completed a parallel set after 2 cases and was only 3 cards off completing a 2nd parallel set. (Actually only 1 card off but 2 of the cards came out damaged)

I only got my 2nd & 3rd set of parallel into my 4th case!!!!

I agree this is actually a good thing. It should stimulate a market for trade and also selling individual cards. Hopefuly will give individual cards within sets some higher value. Do you think it should increase the sale price ( short term ) of the full team sets of silver parallel as they are harder to complete ?

i suppose they had to do this though because if you buy a box for say $100 and try selling cards of to get your money back your left with a little of $50 i'd say, reason im steering clear of breaking anything this series anyhow.

Back to the Case Break

BOX 6

Stardom Mascot Gem

MG7 Kieran Foran ( Again )
MG9 Akuila Uate

Rookie Sensation

RS5 Nathan Gardner

Rookies
Hep Cahill
Mose Masoe
Trent Hodkinson
Simon Dwyer

A big mix of Silver again with some doubles in the same box. A think the market for single silvers may be greater than first thought.

Be Back with Box 7 Soon...
