Broke Open My Bogut Logoman BGS slab :)

Hi guys,

Had one of my good mates visit me tonight and while I was showing him the Bogut logoman he pointed out a matter that was in the slab pressing down on the logoman

So we decided to look up how to break open the slab, never been too impressed with BGS and their grading as believe the auto is a 9.5 not 9 and some other were off.

We found a guy who broke them open with pliers, which looked reckless and wasnt going to risk the Logoman on then we found a guy who chipped both sides until you could pry it open.

After much chipping away with a few taps on a screwdriver with the hammer away came the case, great result and even better the particle was pressing on the case but hadn't dented the card.



So here it is.

Looks so much better you can clearly see the particle next to the logoman blue writing.

Nah mate was a US guy and looked like he was about to chop the card, Chipping was easier than I thought it would be.

Death to BGS!!!!! i used pliers on m pippen/rodman dual auto, i use them to chip the sides which like you said is the easiest way.


should have filmed the bogey mate and youtube'd it not to many big cards like that busted out!!

Yeah never sent in a card to BGS, too many horrors. Might send a couple in to the new OZ company to get graded.

Next one I plan to bust out is a 1/1 Topps Triple Threads auto/patch printing plate of Bogut got graded 8.5. Might do that this weekend.

you'd probably devalue the card by having it "graded" by an unknown. Just my opinion. Leave it raw if you arent going to get it done by the biggies.

Yeah would only be a couple of My mid level cards or a nice Aussie auto or two like a Patty Mills, Longley etc
